Threw a rod in my engine block, new engine is $4400 + like $1400 for installation. Was just about to sell the thing too. Any ideas suggestions? Anyone want a mustang?

I would check into an used engine from a junk yard they actually have good engines sometimes and they test them for you. It will save a lot of money for you. I have bought a tranny from a junk yard for $84 and it still works great put it in myself. My friend owns a junk yard. What year mustang and condition. My younger brother has a 67 mustang in great condition.
Its a 98 Cobra.....good idea but I dont think there are many SVT engines laying around at junkyards.
scrap it!! :wg:
cant, i make payments on it.....Quote:

Have a motor built like you said, maybe throw a supercharger on it a try to sell and break even, the supercharger may help it sell and get some more $$$ for it.JMO
yep i do..Quote:

I hope so, considering there were only about 15-16,000 engines like it. Maybe I could throw in the '03-'04 engine, we shall see. Either way it sucks. I was in debt for the longest time, and I am almost all paid back and about to enter the military. Then this $hit happens. Looks like I know where my first 6 months pay is going.Quote:

threw a rod cuz due to lack of oil pressure or some $hit. Im the second owner, warranty is no good......Quote:

Even the SVT? If youve ever looke under the hood of one you know how damn tight it is. Looks to me like it would be a pain. Might just sell it for the price i was gonna get minues the cost of the engine. Id lose quite a bit doin that though. WTF can ya do?Quote:

pull it apart, might not be as bad as you think. might be able to get a new block and pistons and be good. youll save some money if you rebuild what you got. and you can upgrade :)
