    Car Expert Needed

I have a question about my car, which is broken again.
Can the battery be dead if the CD player will play. The power seems to be strained, when I roll down my window, the display on my clock almost fades out. The windows roll down slower than usual, especially when they get to the bottom. I started it, drove it 2 minutes, stopped and got out for a minute, got back in and it won't start. Help please

sounds like your alternator, but I need more info on what type of car you drive. If you get a jump and your car dies after a couple of minutes I'm pretty sure it's your alt. Take your battery to an auto parts store and have them tell you if it's shot or not. They should charge it up for free.

Ya sounds like the alternator to me too. I've put in a lot of those in. Its one of the easiest things to replace.

You might have to go ahead and get a new battery too bro. Sometimes when the alternator goes out it puts so much strain on your battery that it doesn't last much longer.

    peace,

ttgb might be right, but definitely get it charged for free. Sometimes if you get a new alternator it will recharge the battery for you to almost new. You should have a warranty on the batt.

Do you have a system in your car? (Meaning audio system) If so, you just need a "cap" that helps store power for the subwoofers and amps instead of draining straight from the battery.

If you want to test your alternator try to start it then once its started pull off the positive lead to your battery, if the car dies ya alti is stuffed because a battery is only used for first combustion and ancillary devices like radios.........HITMAN

Just to let ya'll know, although the battery tested fine, it still didn't work. Nothing was wrong with the alternator. I changed out the battery and it started just fine. Thanks for the help though.
