My Westcoast Observations...
Welp, being a Canadian... my trip to LA has been quite an experience... Currently, I have been in sunny California for almost a week and finally starting to adjust... I have noticed a few things over here that are not common practice over on the east coast...
My observations and comments:
Do not comment on a sexy ass chick until you look for an adams apple
Ferrari's and Lamborgini's are a dime a dozen
Organic restaurants are as common as Tim Horton's or Starbucks
Sugar free Redbulls are fanfukingtastic
Mexicans are 12-1 at Universal Studios
Women don't ask you what your name is, they want to know if you're gay or straight
Dress clothes for business meetings make you look like you're trying too hard
Metrosexual is soooo yesterday, Ubersexual is soooo in
Aspiring actors work at most coffee shops
Fake tits are a prerequisite for part of your apparel
The Hollywood sign is not THAT big
Yelling at your server at a restaurant for less than impecable service is anticipated
Outdoor clubs exist
Heated seats are not an option for purchasing a new car
Crack is easier to get than a coffee
Everything shuts down at 2am
Actors are not THAT tall
I have an accent...

Yeah, I moved here to CA two years ago. The first thing I noticed was how popular the word "Organic" is. The other day I saw some organic steer manure for sale. For crying out loud, if it came out of a cows ass it's organic, OK. How would you get non-organic manure anyway?

haha... it's fukin crazy over here... I can't even get over it... Smak, I like Maimi a LOT more, but, this has been a trip! And, yes... there are WAY more high end cars here than in Miami... especially because of Hollywood, bel air, beverly hills.. you know... all the ritzy shit... it's great.. I love LA, but my eastcoast manerisms just don't fly here... I'm too straight with people and they seem to be like to be lied to... I guess it's cause most act phony... Eggz, I know I 'm steriotypin' everything here, but dayyyme brotha... it's insane... it's Justin SANE!!!

Except for the pseudo-gang-bangers. The real ones seem to be OK. Respect equals Respect with them. The doo-rag white boys in wife beaters just make me laugh. Trying to show off their 12" arms, I guess.
Can't beat the weather, the women and the traffic.
Pretty much your observations are correct, except "Women don't ask you what your name is, they want to know if you're gay or straight" No, they want to know what you "do" and what kind of car you drive. Which should explain all the Ferrari's and Lamborgini's (which, buy the way, are rented or leased by guys that can't really afford them).
What about the fact that you CANNOT walk five feet anywhere in the city without seeing at least 10 people on a cell phone. I swear, in 10 years, half the population of this town are going to have brain tumors roughly the size of a Nokia cell phone.
Personally, I love the organic resturants! What about the fact that you can get avacado on ANYTHING!!
If you haven't already, it's worth a drive to Hollywood to check out Pinks Hotdogs and Rosco's Chicken and Waffles. Seriously.
As long as you're on the westside, being a whiteboy is OK. I'm a whiteboy that bounced at a club in East LA for two years. Talk about a culture shock!
Speaking of westside, go to the end of Washington Blvd, right near the beach. Have a coffee at The Cow's End, eat an amazing dinner at C&O Trattoria, and top it off with a beer at Hinano. All on the same block. Then (if you're into that sort of thing) walk far out onto the beach and fire up a "J". You will see the magic of Venice Beach.

i lived out in la for a while and i hated it. mainley because i missed my family and friends, but the place itself was very superficial and extremely different then little 'ol OHIO... but it was a good experience... nice to visit but i will never live in LA again.
