Python Vs. ALligator

A few times I've seen gators pretty close up.
Going down Crome Ave (which is like a border between Miami and the everglades), it is not unusual to see them.
Still amazing how a snake can eat a gator like that.
Btw, I'm going to check out that book by Hunter Thompson that you mentioned...

Yep, especially cruising down 8th street through micousukee.. ..you always see gators lying up on the banks above the canals.... I bet the snake found the gator dead already... I find it hard to believe the snake killed the gator

damn i didnt think pythons were wild in the US or are they just released into the wild after they grow to big for the owner to handel them??? i have had burmes,and ball pythons along with Boas once my snakes got over 6ft i gave to the zoo if i coulndnt find a buyer in time, but this snake looks way bigger than 13 feet.

i would call the snake the winner, gator got owned by the snake swallowing him but got killed in the process.

hang on I'll look for the corresponding article, they say it's happened before. The pythons have killed gators but the gators have also killed pythons. Not too often it happens though. They also said that the snake was probably torn from the gator clawing at it's insides while being digested.

here's the story, not as common as I thought only 4 times in the past 3 years. And 'usually the gator wins or it's a draw' so still gators are the predators.

The incident has heightened biologists' fears that the nonnative snakes could threaten a host of other animal species in the Everglades.

The snake was found with the gator's hindquarters protruding from its midsection. Mazzotti said the alligator may have clawed at the python's stomach as the snake tried to digest it.

In previous incidents, the alligator won or the battle was an apparent draw

but only 4 incidents so it seems a bit over dramatic.

still crazy that a snake fit a whole gator in it's belly. Must take a long ass nap after that.
