firewalled internet connection

I live in an apt complex where you just plug in your computer and its net ready ... they have a firewall that wont allow me to connect to kazaa, limewire etc .. try to download music etc .. it wont let me .... any ideas on how to get around this .. all help would be apperciated ...

It all depends on its setup. There are some damn good ways to block p2p activity these days. Usually a firewall is a small part of it, since the programs are advanced enough to negotiate ports. (thus port blocking wont work). The easiest way to get around the limited network is not use it, use the phone lines to dial into an open network.
