Texas has played the tougher schedule. They should be number one. I hope that somehow v tech jumps usc than that would put an end to the whole bcs system.

yeah yeah yeah.....do i really need to bring up the old threads from last year. everyone bashing usc for playing a weak ass schedule, and being overrated. they then proceded to lay the biggest ass-whooping smack down that oklahoma has ever received. the #1 team should remain #1 until one of two things happens. A. they lose B. a team that is cut and dry better comes along. neither of these have happened.

I guess I can't talk too much shit since my Rebs aren't doing a whole lot this year. But it is nice to see someone else at number 1.

And Auburn deserved to be in the title game last year. They were undoubtedly better than Oklahoma and I think they had a legitimate shot at beating USC. Stoops can suck a fat one.

I'm not exactly a Texas fan, but what the hell. Hook `Em!

I think it was pretty obvious that USC was the best team in the country last year. I dont think Auburn was better than Oklahoma, but if they were, they would have needed to be a helluva lot better to have a shot at beating USC. Seriously, they have the Heisman trophy winner, and the best running back in college football history. What more do they have to do for you guys to admint they are #1. Yeah they are gonna lose, EVERYONE loses eventually. Doesnt mean they arent the best team.

You can't be serious! I hate USC as much as anyone but they've played a MUCH harder schedule. Texas has played two overrated/decent teams in Ohio St. and Texas Tech. USC has played a decent Orego team, a very good ASU team, a very good ND team plus they still have an undefeated UCLA and a decent Cal team left to play.

I don't like either team and hope somehow VT gets in the title game but to say Texas has played a harder schedule than ANYONE is

I'm not mad at all. Florida's only 2 losses are to Top 10 teams and they are 16th in the only poll that should really count, the AP. not to mention the nice jump they'll make after they take out #4 Georgia this weekend

I'm just a firm believer in SOS(strength of schedule) and there should be no rankings til at least the 4th week of the season.

IMO the rankings dont matter until the end of the season and they need a playoff sys to determine the best team!!!!!!!!!!

I agree the BCS sucks.

The problem with a playoff system is that it would:
1. Lengthen the season for each team a few more games, too many for the final two
2. It would almost have to be played during December which is Final exam time for colleges

I would like to see something different just not sure what.

BCS contract is up after the 06' season, hopefully we can have a playoff system or the big 4 bowl games with a + 1 game.
