Why cant ANY member have a sig?

Almost every other board I am on allows sigs for everyone, why cant we here? Is it to prevent publicity or what?

...One reason is that the board is so large..It would take too much manpower/time to police the sigs and hinder staff from keeping the forums in order....You know how it is, people would post things in their sig that would be against the rules....

To re-cap, VETS and MODERATORS are entitled to signatures.

This change was made almost a year ago.

Sigs were getting general complaints (load times and thread clutter) and people were providing misleading information in them, - like being a Admin/Mod/Vet at a bunch of kiddy sites to boost credentials/trust here...
