ok.. gotta vent!
Every get real busy with life and step out of the same ol routine of the gym...?
I just had a 6.5 month blur speed by in my life and took a "little" break from the gym. Now that I got back in 3 weeks ago... my mind is FAWKED!!
How awful it is to feel like a puny little bitch!!!!
you go to grab a weight and it feels like 3 times the weight! You go to add just one more rep... and you almost kill yourself! Your looking at the little shit heads in the gym who walk around with their chest out and you actually think they may look better than you!
hahaha ok... im done.
This feeling always keeps me in the gym for years to come. I think I needed this kick in the ass!
Thanks for listening.

Don't sweat it. I figure that around week 8 you should almost be back to normal. That's about how long it has taken me in the past.

I have nothing against young guys trying to get in shape, but flexing in the mirror and walking around with your chest out like your ronnie coleman is something that just KILLS me.

I know what you mean about people walking out with their chests out thinking they are bigger than you. When I came back from my chest injury I could barely push 245 for 6 and i felt like a shit. I felt so small

First this discussion got ugly, then it got funny...
Whatever.
Always remember, don't judge your weight by the scale, and don't judge your strength by the weight.
(water weight and muscle memory, for those that need a primer)
Bodybuilding and powerlifting are contests, not against anyone else, but against our own will. Being discouraged is one of two things... a reason for us to quit, or a reason for us to push ourselves harder. Your choice, not anyone else's.
That is what makes our sports unique. Watch bodybuilders or powerlifters preparing for a meet. They help each other. Do baseball teams do this? No.
Why? Because in the end, it isn't about relying on your team. It's about relying on yourself, your nutrition, your training. It's man vs. man.
More correctly, it's man vs. himself.
You feel weak? Pickup the goddamn weight and do something about it! Or go home. It's that simple.
I know what the System Admin of Steroid .com will do. But if you need to hear it... Then PICK UP THE GODDAMN WEIGHT!

My usually routine is
day 1
Chest, Tris, some delts
day 2
Legs, Abs
day 3
Back, Bis
day 4
OFF
the above always works for me
but when I am really strapped for time, or am just in a planned break
I switch to the following split and lose very little power or development, and actually start looking like a athlete instead of bodybuilder:
day 1
Run outside for 45-60 minutes
day 2
Chest and Back, with some squats and a little bit of arms ( I use higher reps and go for pump, not power)
day 3
OFF
works like a charm
