    gettin the computer to run faster

    are there any programs or anything i can do to make my computer run faster from broadband connections to opening programs and running them

    for broadband, goto www.dslreports.com they claim to have something that will help. for computer, try a problem called supercleaner, also run ad-aware, avg (anti-virus), and if you still can't find the speed you're looking for with the broadband, maybe you could look into "modem uncapping". good luck

    Reinstall windows. Everytime you install/remove programs you add more junk that windows has to read and process. Unless you can edit the registry without f*ing it up, then the only way is to just wipe the drive and reinstall. I do it every few months since so much crap is downloaded from webpages without you even knowing it.

    You can delete temporary internet files, and remove programs that are of no use to you (make sure to leave the files that are shared by other programs when it asks you). That should be a good start.

    in windows, go to start, then run, then type in 'msconfig' , hit ok, go to the startup tab, and get rid of the crap in the background that starts up that you dont need.

    ...and after removing your temp files and junk programs be sure to do a defrag.
