    computer Guru's

Does anyone know how to disable a mail account in exchange 2000?

I want to do it without deleting the mailbox. I just want to restrict him from sending and receiving mail. I know in 5.5 It was a simple check in a box. but not in 2000

    One more.
HOw do you go about restricting Internet access to a certain user?

Anyone shed some light on this...i know sicilian knows!! where is he?@?@?@

I'm not that familiar with Exchange 2000 as I am 5.5. But I think if you limit the send and receive size of an E-mail to 0kb and then either change or delete the E-mail addresses then that should prevent that user from sending and receiving E-mail.

As far as denying access to the Internet I'm not really sure. I imagine you would need a proxy server in place to deny a user Internet access. There could also be a way in Active Directory but I'm only familiar with NT domains.

I want to say that if you have Windows 2000 Active Directory Users and Computers Microsoft Management Console, if you right click the user object there should be an option for Disable Exchange Mail.

I could be wrong but if this option is there then that may be what your looking for.

I'm not sure. I cant even think what the difference is in the MMC snap in as apposed to going through AD user and computers.

I thought the only way to access AD was through the MMC....again it's been a while since I've seen AD.

AD users and computers is an MMC. As for restricting email, you should be able to disable the email portion of the account within users and computers on the exchange tab.

As for internet access, if you are using AD, you can lock someone down using the AD policies.
