Help me decide on dvd/stereo for the dorm room...

Ok, so I need a dvd player and a stereo for my dorm room. I have a few different choices and here's what I was thinking.

    1) I could get a shelf system and buy a separate dvd player.

    2) I could get a shelf system that has a dvd player already built in.

    3) I could buy a surround sound system that has a dvd player built into the reciever.

What do you guys think? I think it is going to be around the same price. REDROCk

Hmmm...well, why not buy XBox?? It plays DVD, it will play MP3, so there is your DVD and your stereo in one. Plus, you can also play cool games on it

How much you want to spend?

500Watt Sony Reciever+5disc DVD and Satelite speakers w/sub for about $600. Not bad and will give you everything you want.

Would you want a DVD player that also plays MP3s and CDs and displays the compact flash card pictures from a digital camera? You can also duplicate copy-protected DVDs onto video tape with it. I got one of these and I love it. If your interested check out http://www.area450.com/thesampozone/...s/dve631cf.htm .
They list dealers prices on the site. I hope this helps.
