Cigars from Cuba are illegal in the USA because they have sanctions against Cuba.

A cuban cigar just means that the tobacco they use in it is from Cuba. Since we have a trade embargo with Cuba since forever now, it is illegal to sell cuban cigars in the states.

However, you can get some of your favorite brand cigars (ie. Cohiba, Monticristo, Don Fuentes etc.) which use tobacco form the Domican Republic. Their product is actually smoother cuz they take care of their crops much more than the Cubans do.

I still smoke many cubans, but I like the dominicans just as well.

Remeber, pick a cigar that YOU like, not the most expensive one.

VK great post i was going to say the exact same thing. you can still get them direct from cuba, but without the rings on them. my uncle gets them sent that way they ship the rings in seperate packages. go figure i would just go with the dominican's as well. maybe going there on honeymoon.. (dominican republic)

Glad to see others like cigars around here. I personally don't give a shit about the rings, as long as it tastes good, just send the shit.

Correct me if I'm wrong but a "blunt" is a cigar "Phillie Blunt" which has been cracked open, the tobacco taken out and filled with a sticky green substance most refer to as weed.

I brought back a couple of boxes of Romeo y Juliet's from Ireland and still prefer the Dominican cigars.

Anybody ever smoked a Dominican Cohiba? I can't get around to spending the money on it and I wanted to know if there was a real difference between the Dom and the Cuban. I've had the Cuban BTW.
