Such a tragedy! He was always such a positive man, and very informative on morals and understanding ways of thinking. Its such a sad thing that men of his caliber are taken away so early in their lives when they touch so many people. I know many people will miss his encouraging word. May he rest in peace. You will be missed brother.

Let's keep his family, friends, and the kids he ministered in our prayers.

I did not realize any of this was going on, and then I got a pm from him on sept 29th saying that the cancer he was fighting was going to take his life in the distant future and inspite of his situation, gave me a blessing for myself and my family because he helped me through my hard times with my wife and our marriage a few months back. That shows volumes of what kind of man David was, always putting others before himself, if I could put 1/5 the effort he did into helping others, I would touch so many peoples lives.

He contacted me a week ago with this statement.
I responded to your thread tonight and I want you to be sure to check it out. In the meantime...
Got some bad news. Before I tell you, I need you to keep this on the down low. It's going to be announced in the not so distant future so you'll get an update when the time comes. As you may already know, I was once again diagnosed with cancer a few months agol Only this time, it will win. My brain surgery was unsuccessful and my life expectancy is very short. I've instructed my wife to contact Tai when I die and he'll then inform the board accordingly.
The doctors don't anticipate me seeing the year 2008. I'm preparing accordingly as my house is for sale and my wife is planning on moving in with her sister upon our house being sold. I'm telling you all of this because you have been one of my supporters for quite some time now. I thank you and I ask that you live your life the right way.
Best of luck to you,
David
I never expected it to be so soon. He was a vauled member of our board, one of the greats, and he will be missed.

Very sad to hear... he was a valued member and has helped many... some very personal some just with his kind words or understanding.... he will be greatly missed here...
To his wife I am deeply sorry for your time of greif and can only offer to you our prayers and I wish for the good memories that you have to cherish to sustain you through this time... God speed...Every man has the ability to be a fool, it is what he does to recover that shows who the fool really is.

wow i just was looking at his post.. This was his last post.. Its from the Bigrexia thread .... Again my prayers are with him and his wife....
Being "big" is not the be all, end all of life. Because when you die, the people at your funeral will not be saying, "He was a big guy." You can only hope that they'll be uplifting the other things that you brought to the table through relationships with them.
If you do in fact struggle with this, I can only hope and pray that you'll allow yourself to NOT allow your personal desire to be "big" to defeat the purpose of your life on this side of the grave.

I never knew him on a personal basis but he was a good human being from what I saw and read, somewhat of a philanthropist. I shall sport the avy of the team he loved for a couple of days in his honour.
