Damn brown recluses
They scare the hell out of me since I see one about once a month either at the house or at the store. One bite can make you lose a limb and I don't have health insurance so they will kill the bank too Anyone else scared of these things? It's like having poisonous snakes going in your bed and house. I check the bed before I get in it and even have dreams about them crawling on me If you spray they actually like it more since they eat dead bugs.

i got bit by one about 2 years ago
on my inner upper thigh
came about 2 inches away from losing a testicle LOL
went to the dr., they put me on antibiotics cuz at the time they didnt know what had bitten me, after a few days a small red bump grew to a raised lump about 5inches by 5inches, and an area the size of a quarter turned black and my flesh started to decay
at this time i went back to the drs and they sent me right up to the ER, and i got a chunk of my leg removed so that was FUN
and the best part was, they left the wound open so id have to clean it and pack it with sterilized gauze 2x a day

yeh i see the bastards every now and again.....normally i smash them because i feel like i'm helping hte cause of total extermination but other times i don't even wanna get close to 'em to take the chance of getting ambushed by its buddies...i have a friend who was bit in the leg and they had to surgically remove a big chunk of muscle/fat/tissue....it was nasty, and his leg is still alittle deformed as you can imagine....i have a mexican red knee tarantula and i'll hold that huge spider w/out the slightest fear, but when i see a recluse my stomach drops...

you know black widows are very commin in the US.. and they are considered the most poisonous spider.. there venom is 15 stronger then a rattlesnake's venom and they get their name because after they mate with the male they will eat the male.. hence the term black widow
if you see a black spider with a red hourglass on the body go the other way, they won't go after you but will bite in self defense

yeah i had a brown recluse in bed with me once. the little bastard bit me 12 times on my legs while i slept. you could tell which ones were first because they were the worst. i couldnt walk for two weeks and i had to drink nyquil just to be able to go to sleep at night, and would wake up in the middle of the night and have to drink more. i went to the doctor and all they gave me were damn antibiotics.......i dont take antibiotics because i beleave they slowly bring your emmune system down. luckaly im not one of the types of people who have a bad reaction to the bits and they healed up pretty quick. it was the worst pain in my life.
