I've met a ton. Living in Cal its kinda hard to miss them. The most famous in my eyes was Bob Hope. Some others were Prince, Percilla Presley, Eazy E, Magic, Nicole Kidman, Elton John, Paula Abdoul (sp?) . I had a huge crush on Paula at the time too but I kept my cool. A ton more too. Weird Al was very cool too. We talked for quite a while. I almost got in a fight with Mr "Ice Ice baby" and a couple of his dancers. He's a punk ass. A few others but that gives you an idea

I was friends with and hung out with Sean Puffy Combs in college. That was way before he became Puff Daddy or whatever he's called now.

I exchanged words with Julia Roberts. She was coming out of the Armani store as I was coming in and she bumped into me and spill coffee on my white shirt. She didn’t apologize or say excuse me so I called her a rude bitch. She just stood there and shrugged her shoulders.

Just last weekend was hanging out at a strip bar in West Palm with my girlfriend and some other friends and met Kid Rock, he was in town for a concert. Seemed pretty cool he shook our hands and talked for a few minutes and then went off to the VIP room. Well then he sends over some dork to invite my girl into the VIP room but I'm not invited. WTF, I almost strangled his little piece of shit messenger.

Oh no, it's time for me to trot out my college story again.

It was October, 1974, I was a freshman living in the dorm at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. 1974 was a mid-term election year.

One Saturday morning I got up, stumbled across the hall into the communal showers, showered, and stumbled back to my room to dry off and get dressed. Suddenly there's a knock on the door, so I wrap the towel around my waist and answer, and there stands Bill Clinton with his hand out. He was running for Congress against a well-intrenched Republican incumbent. He asked me if I was registered to vote, and I answered "yes." He then asked if he could count on my vote in November, and I regretfully informed him that I was registered in another congressional district back home and couldn't help him. He shook my hand again and left.

So that's how I met Bill Clinton while soaking wet wearing nothing but a towel.

In my line of work as a live sound tech guy, I work with famous, soon-to-be-famous, and formerly-famous people all the time. A short list would include: Joan Baez, Ritchie Havens, Janis Ian, Richard Thompson, Frank Black, Henry Rollins, Leftover Salmon, Son Volt, Ian Moore, Chris Duarte, Johnny Winters, Soulfly, Puddle of Mudd, Three Doors Down, Alex Chilton, Monte Montgomery, Maria Muldaur, North Mississippi Allstars, Asleep At The Wheel, Sir Mix-A-Lot, Tone Loc, Pat Green, BR549, etcetera etcetera...

Had good luck in this area:

I hung out more than a dozen times with:

DAve Williams (R.I.P.) - lead singer of Drowning Pool
    Dimebag Darrell - Pantera
    David Drainman - Disturbed
Lars Ulrich and the boys - Metallica
    Jerry Cantrell - AIC

Went to a football combine and chatted with:

    Al Davis
    John Gruden
    Bill Parcells
    Bill Walsh

Caught a ball or 2 from Tommy Maddox, John Elway, Brett Favre, when I was little.

Played against Michael Vick, Josh Heupel, and the rest of the graduating class of 2001-2002.

Currently playing against the younger Vick and others......

I hope its not over yet.......hopefully you guys will one day say, HEy I knew him......

Well, I have met a couple...

Bob Barker, who I had wanted to meet since I was a little kid watching the Price is Right
Stone Cold Steve Austin, so happened he stayed in the same hotel we did when we were in NYC. Met him outside the hotel waiting for his limo, he is really a cool bro.
Played against Steve "Air" McNair when I was in college.
Gambled in Vegas with Dennis Rodman before he got thrown out for rubbing the dice on his nutts after he was told to keep the dice over the table.
Met Hulk Hogan and Brutus the Barber Beefcake at a company function.
Met Steve Atwater also and had him autograph two of his football cards for me.
    That's about it...

My girlfriend is a 'professional' actor but that is all I'm saying for that!

Otherwise, my only .02 on this topic is .. move to NYC, everyone here thinks they're famous!

Yeah eat dinner anywhere in LA and and I guarantee you your waiter is a actor/actress...

I agree with Ron "living in the land of stars" you meet and run into a grip of stars.

For the most part they are cool...but some are real assholes...it's cool to hang with them...but in reality they are people just like us...my highlights are having a beer and speaking with my hero Ronnie Lott at a bar....playing basketball with Will Clarke and the Giants when he (Will)played for the giants....and Jenifer Love Hewitt...probably the biggest highlight...

Disclaimer: I don't know any of these people personally. But I have met them, had a meal with them, or just "bumped" into them.

Julia Roberts and Cameron Diaz at a spa in LA; lunch with Michael Douglas in Santa Barbara; shook hands with Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks, and Steven Spielberg at the Vienna Film Festival (Cruise was not very popular at the time); Former President of Taiwan, PM of England Tony Blair at an informal diplomatic banquet in Shanghai - this I give credit to my grandpa, the Presidential dentist ; a bunch of people at concerts and benefits...but they don't count cuz i paid to see 'em. ooh yeah, lunch with Penny Marshall, Ang Lee, Chow Yun Fat, and Zhang Zi Yi. - One of my mom's best friends is famous producer and film critic, Peggy Chao. She hooked me up. hehe. Zhang Zi Yi is looking freaking good. She was in Crouching Tiger and Rush Hour 2...for those not knowing who the hell im talking about.

Janis Ian is a truly great lady, and a consummate professional. She really has her shit together. She knows what she wants, and how to get it. It doesn't hurt that she can sing, write songs, and play some mean guitar too...

Muldaur was a total primadonna, and her voice is pretty much gone.
