WAR - is it just human nature
What is it with the human race, Hell bent on trying to wipe out it's own species?
I'm inspired to make this thread in recent light of what is happening between Israel and Gaza. A lot of people will blame religion, and up till a few weeks ago I would have 100% agreed. Now im not so sure. Now im starting to believe that religion is an excuse, that removing religion from the minds of men would NOT make the world a better place. That men would simply find, another reason to fight. Some people might attribute war today as a means for the rich elite to simply get richer on the bones of the poor. So take money out the equation and everyone is equal. Except everyone is not equal, resentment builds and elitists emerge again, demanding that they should control more due to their status above lower, less skilled people.
And so on.
Is man simply too greedy and insecure to live side by side with his fellow man?

wars been around before religion, before money, before land was claimed. i don't see it ending any time soon either, unless someone just drops a nuke.

Everyone is pushing an agenda be it elitism, seperatism, racism, democracy, or religous. I think we have little battles everyday. We all push our agendas. It is just that there can come a time on the most passionate movements that force is necessary. Someone breaks in my house because they believe mine is thiers, I will declare war on them. Isreal has been having that same battle forever. Sometimes you gotta push back. I am not agreeing or disagreeing with them, but I know thier plight.

I don't get people. So much hatred. Just mind your own business and move on with your life. Yet, there always going to be an idiot blasting people for whatever reasons.

I hate to say it but as a military contractor I get paid everytime one breaks out and now that I am out with an injury just means I will have a place to go back to when I get better. It has been that way before CHRIST and we can't even get along with each other in our own country. Look at the elections...I would like a war along the Coast and get away from the desert.....I would like to take the time and say this is a great post and would love to see other peoples coments. I also was in the military and was in Panama and the first gulf war as a Ranger and later SF...This quote has been used before but "when the first bullet goes past your head it dont matter why or who you just do your job." "Hoot a delta operator who is a personal friend or mine used that saying ave had it put in the movie black hawk down. God bless those on the lines...

A lack of forgiveness will continue to fuel the desire to compete with the world and its people.

It seems to me its greed ...thats what it comes down to. For money, land, power, natural resources, etc.... The guise can be many things...religion has been a major justification and substantiation in purveying war as it is a topic that strikes to the core of many men ...therefore a powerful rationalization tool....but it really just comes down to greed in one form or another....

Bill Hicks once said that humanity is a virus with shoes. In the film The Matrix, Agent Smith states that the only organism on earth we resemble is a virus. Both seem pretty accurate to me.
I sometimes wonder if we're born with a self destruct gene. Or if it is pure greed.

Every war is started by a government, every war is funded with paper money.
Every war is funded on a paper money standard because the government can tax the revenue in gold.
Every war distorts the price-production system.
Every war causes inflation of the money supply, a credit boom and then a following bust.
Every war kills and destroys the value of your money.
Every war you are a little less free and lose some more liberty.
I dont like war, i like liberty freedom, and gold.

Lots of research has been done on aggression. That's basically what it boils down to . . . it's a basic characteristic of most animals . . .
