    About computer *offtopic

I have a problem with this computer, I installed Windows XP on it 2 weeks ago.

Now when I put mediaplayer or any other videoplayer on and start watching for example GetAway videos, the video clip jams every 45secs or so.. and the problem is not with videos beacuse it happens with all clips I have.

Anyone else having this kind of problem ?

    Computer:
    500mhz celeron
    GeForce 2
    192mb ram
    14,300 mb hd
    CD RW 8/10/12 read 40

Have you installed the XP Service Pack 1 yet ? That might help first off.

Sounds like a video card driver, or some type of hardware/software problem. Service Pak 1 yes, that actually has alot of fixes in it, especially locks ups from media Player. Also try upgrading your video card driver, if it is an ATI or a Nvida, they are constantly having problems with software, and video players. Also check the manufacturers website for your player, to see if there is a patch or a "bug fix" for that particular player.

I'll be honest with ya... with only a 500mhz at 192mb, I'd stick to Win98se. XP is a big time resources hog.

With the Geforce2 though you should be ok for most videos. Make sure you have the proper drivers AND make sure that DMA is turned on for your hard drives.

It will be fine to run them, yes. But like RK says, it's a friggin hog on shit. Plus 98 SE is the most stable out there. XP's got a few extra looks to it, but if you're not up for that, then go back to 98 SE.

hmm... I don`t think anyone here gives you new key, you should contact MS, their customer service can`t be that bad
