why go to the movies when you can get them on the release date off the internet? I personally like to get the new movies off the internet and see wether or not i want to pay to see them on the big screen. What do you guys think?

I'd peel off my fingernails before I downloaded a movie. There aren't many movies that I want to see, but when I see something it has to be in a theatre.

download it, and watch it in the comfort of your own home. Besides, what's the chances of a girl wanting to get it on in a movie theater?

Movie atmosphere is a big plus.

There are times when you'd rather rent it and times you'd rather goto the theatre.

Movie quality isn't always as good when downloading either...and you do have a chance of some fuckface giving you a virus when you think you're downloading "Analyze That"...mind you, I'm going to watch that badboy in the theatre!

Correct me if I'm wrong but most movies available for download are poor quality and bootleg copies.
Some are even filmed with a camcorder by a guy in the audience.
If you just want to watch the movie then I guess it's ok but there have been times where it just didn't look the same in my computer.

Try the matrix, would you watch that in the 17" or in the theater?

I dont go to the movies too often so when I do its not a big deal paying $5.50 (student discount) to go see a movie ... Plus inviting a girl to the movies and dinner is probably going to get you laid faster then inviting her over for some ramen noodles and a bootleg copy of 8 mile on your computer... Went last night too see the ring and it was good ... actually snuck in a Met-rx shake to the movies to tide me over after dinner ...

I like bringing my dates across the street to the drive-in's while we listen to the game...cheap and easy....no wood panelling though...but the interior dash is carpetted :LOL:

I can sell you some, at a 400% markup of course. It works better if you have a lot of pine air fresheners in your trailer and one of those fireplace videos that you can have playing on your TV.

Obviously, nothing beats the theater as far as sound and overall enviroment.

As far as the computer, its free, tons of movies are DVD quality, and did i mention its free? Usually though u can't find the DVD quality stuff till the movie actually does come out on DVD. Oh well.

If you wait for the DivX to be released, and get the rip, its the same as dvd quality. If you have a decent monitor (19 " here), a nice video card, and a good sound card /w system connected -- its better than a movie theater. When I'm at home (and last year in the dorms), I have the 19" with sblive 5.0, all in wonder 8500, and a monsoon surround sound system hooked up. It sounds very expensive, but its not bad if you just shop around.

Anyways, I am not sure how theaters are in canada, but at least in the states, watching movies at home has its perks.

1. you can't get busy with your girl while watching the movie in the theater

2. there is no pause button for when you have to piss, or drink a shake

3. you can't watch the movie again (or a scene again) unless you sit through the movie in the theater, vs. skipping in the file at home

4. no one can bug you while your at home (people's cell phones ringing, loud popcorn/food eating, and all those annoyances: BABY CRYING)

5. you pay for a movie ticket, vs. waiting a few hours for the divx

6. there are no long lines at home

7. you can lie down and watch the movie in your own bed

I just think these reasons are sufficient for me to kazaa my movies.

Some movies you hafto see at the movies. I mean Matrix or LOTR on a 17"...no thanks. But i do download some movies when im bored.
