What Do You Plan To Do With Your Life?

Just wondering what everyone plans to do with their lifes, not strictly for all the under 21's with no job

Personally, I plan to join the Royal Marines(Commando). I have my PRM course on January 7th. That's what I see myself doing in 30 years until I retire and/or being eaten by a rappid west highland terrier

When I have completed the 9 month training and have my green berret, I aim to becaome a Physical Instructor aka. Big Scarry guy with gut that can run faster than the road runner for some reason.

What are you're plains for life? Or for the older members, what did you plan in your younger years and did it come into reality?

I'm finishing up my (first) graduate degree now and take my law school admissions exam in about 12 days. As you can see, it is my very serious goal to avoid "the real world" as long as possible. Though, when the time comes that the student loans and such catch up with me, I'm torn between lawyer, professor, teacher (high school) or (and i'm being serious) stay-at-home dad.

Man you dont need all that fancy education to be a high school teacher... I dont know if you were serious on that one or not. If you were you obviously never majored in Eco then cause that wouldnt make any ****ing sense!

What do I want to do? SHeeiit good question... I'm 2 years out from my undergrad BBA degree. Will probably pursue a career in marketing/sales... eventual dream of running my own business (in my dreams i see us taking work breaks to use the power rack in the employee room). I've been in the reserves for 3 years now, and may eventually consider a UN peacekeeping tour. I have the obvious dream of raising a family. But right now all my efforts are focused on my courses, working out or partying.

I am graduating next May, buying 1/2 of a dance company and then in 20 years buying the rest of it. Im also thinking about getting certified to teach arobics, pilattes, and other fitness based women's programs.

Other than jobs, out of life I would like to have a successful marriage and raise wonderful kids.

right now my goals are to push my business as far as it can go. while im at it ill be taking all the profit and rolling them right into real estate. i have my business just so i can have extra free time to do what ever. in 10 years or so i really dont care if i sell it or just stop it. i plan on just doing the real estate thing full time in about 10 years or so. im 23 now so i hope by the time im in my mid 30's ill have enough passive income from the real estate to not really care about my business. other then that, my plans are just to keep my head straight and to somehow find a woman i wanna spend the rest of my life with. its funny but when i was in high school i didnt know what i wanted to do, but i knew i didnt want to work for anyone. and now here i am, doing just what i wanted to do, side from the being a professional snowboarder (to many knee surgeries, caused the dreams to go bye bye, yeah my sponsors were just as pissed as i was)

Is it just me or is this thread really old. hahahaha

Well I will go to a tech school and learn a trade in electronics, then after I graduate I will go to work for the family business and get married to the woman I love....after some time together we will start a family and I will decide I don't want to work long hrs for the family business, so then I will go get a good job working 40 hrs per wk plus good retirement and benefits...alittle while after the new job we will decide to add to the family and have a second child....after all this we will grow into a rut of everyday life and live happily ever after.........oh sh!t!!!!! that's where I'm at now.

At 19, I planned on doing 4 years in the military, then getting married and becoming a preacher in the Salvation Army (I still laugh at that one). Turns out I was actually gay, got kicked out of both the military and the Salvation Army, spent 23 years in corporate America, retired (thanks to lucky timing in the dot com boom), got bored, and am fixing to open a low stress barber shop on the side of a lake. Am 48 now, think I might open up a couple more shops after this one, then maybe dabble in local politics again . . . maybe a run for local JP so I can wear a choir robe and hit a table with a gavel . . .

One thing I've discovered . . . if you're lucky, you'lll have lots of surprises along the way. The folks that seem to be the most bored with their lives are the ones who had thing planned out step by step, and got to where they planned with no deviations along the way.
Lots of doctors and lawyers and other professional people decide they'd rather do something else, and end up running small bed & breakfasts, or canoe rental places in the Ozarks or whatever. Lots of people who get stuck in 9 to 5 jobs wish they could run a small business in the Ozarks.

My advice -- don't buy too much "stuff" because it tends to own you, rather than you owning it. Take lots of pictures. Have a plan, but be flexible; be ready to exchange one plan for a better one. Let life be an adventure. Never forget that life is to be enjoyed; sing and dance in the sunlight for as long as you can.

Good luck in the military . . . watch out for those West Highland Terriers--they can be vicious . . . I had a Cairn Terrier in the USAF (for real) . . . was a little terror . . .

    Take care,
    --Tock

Be prepared to pay out your ass for Hopkins, unless of course you find a hospital willing to pay back your student loans which is nice.

I myself have just made a career move that hopefully in a few years, coupled with my MBA I'm working on will launch me into the position to become the youngest VP of one of the big 5 defense contractors in the country.

That and getting married will take up most of my time in the next 5 years.

of course hopkins is expensive as hell but it being the number one med school in the country is well worth it.. chances are that i would be able to pay of my student loans 5-6 years after i'm done with my residency if not quicker.. its good to see your making things happen in your life and congrats on your wedding are we invited

i want to go to either cornell or northwestern for med school. NYU is also an option, and i'll be shooting for harvard/yale. i don't want to go to hopkins, and i probably couldn't make it anyway, so that suits me well.

I plan on becoming a professional chartered accountant after I graduate in 4 years. Want to work at one of the big 3 auditing firms, which I know I will get in, hopefully Deloitte and Touche. I also have plans to open my own e-commerce site, im not too sure how I can run that and go to school full time, work-out, and have a life. My business plan has been in development for a year now, and I already have all the numbers figured, fully functional ecommerce website, etc. I just lack the funding to start anything. Having run porn websites when I was teenager I know how to make a few bucks off the internet.

Im 21 now, my life is pretty much figured out unlike a lot of my buddies. Im really glad I got into weight lifting, before I was a loser with no work eithic who took almost 6 years to finish high school. Now im hovering around a 4.0 average, and one of the brightest in my classes.

I wanted my band to get signed... we got signed on an indy label and things just fell apart as we all had to get full time jobs. I've been writing mortgages now for about a year and have been in the mortgage industry for 7 in various capacities... I HATE all the stuffed shirts around this place cause I don't even fit in... a bulky biker with a bunch of pear shapes all day lol...

I don't know why I'm replying to this, cuz I don't think anybody really cares what other people want to do with thier lives, but oh well.

I just changed my major from Chemical Engineering to BBA.

After graduating I'm going to teach English in Asia starting with South Korea then Japan, and possibly Hong Kong or Taiwan.

Then come back to the States and work on my MBA if I haven't already accomplished that online while away.

I plan on becoming a CPA and actually being HONEST about all financial transactions. Seriously, when you can't trush accountancts and bankers with money, who can you trust with it? Hopefully more people will get their act together.

After that, I don't know! Hopefully I will get married and have children someday, but thats a ways off for me. But that is how so much of life seems, so it may all happen pretty fast. Oh, and I wanna be ripped and muscular too
