I am also a LAN Admin. Keep your bias opinions to yourself. Did you watch the commercial or did you just you feel the need to make such an intelligent post?

That commercial was hilarious. Too bad I'm in the middle with that 15. Oh, and to the "Lan Admin", how can you have fixed both types of pcs when an apple isn't a PC?

Totally different architecture, but I don't wanna get into that.

PC = Pentium Chip in the shops I have worked at. Common words are "Dude - did you get that PC working - I got it up on the Mac?"

oh gosh, here goes a friggin PC definition argument. True enough PC is a personal computer but the generic definition of that is includes computers utilising an Intel processor. When IBM released the PC, it was the IBM PC and Apple never called their computer a PC.

LOL, but its really not a big issue. I mean, it is just semantics, right?

They aren't all that cheap. The IBM clones are cheap becomes everyone can make them. But Apple has a unique processor design that is only replicated by Apple. And clocks nearly twice as fast as a pentium chip of the same speed.

Apple's Macintosh computers are an industry hog for visual information... they never really did well mainstream because of the cost. But if you need a computer to run multiple graphics and video software packages, gets no viruses and is very secure - Apple is a good buy.

Depends what you're looking for. A home computer or a professional computer.

    Consumer
    iMac & iBook

    Professional
    PowerMac & PowerBook

    You can check here:

    http://www.apple.com/hardware/

I have 2 PowerBooks, 1 iMac and a wireless network at home. I'm running OS 10 on all 3.

Are you running OS 9 or 10? I have OS 10 on all of my Macs. I don't have OS 9 (classic) installed. As far as software, if it's not OS 10 native I won't go near it!!!

Yes, you are stuck in a time warp. All of the software you listed you can run under OS 10.

    Illustrator 10 (native)
    InDesign 2 (native)
    Acrobat 5 (native)
    GoLive 6 (native)
    LiveMotion 2 (native)

You'd have to upgrade to Office X and update Photoshop to version 7.

PM me if you need help.
