What (good) new movies have you seen recently?
I'm starting this thread because I've had the misfortune of only seeing very bad movies lately...
For example, I recently saw 'The Ring', and I must say it was a complete waste of $17.00 which I paid for me and my girl. Just garbage.
So.. until the summer blockbusters start rolling in.. is there anything good out now?

Saw About Schmit and thought it was a well made movie, but I was expecting more. Woth a watch though
Confessions of a Dangerous Mind- GO SEE THIS MOVIE(Oceans 11 Producer, Goerge Clooney Direction, Great cast, great script)
Gangs of New york- Very Dissapointed(I know it's been out a while but I just saw it.
Catch Me if you Can- I loved this movie and everyone in it. I usually do not like Leo at all but he was perfect for the role.
Just a little side note: They are making an Oceans 12-Same cast plus a few new faces. Same director(Soderburgh). Its going to be called Honor among theives.
Also, the director of Memento(Chris Nolan) will be doing the new Batman.

Palme... The Ring is an excellent movie in terms of photography, cinematography, direction, etc. My only beef with it is the screenplay. The movie ends with 75% of its questions unexplained......

I just saw "25th Hour" with Ed Norton and would recommend it. Its by no means the greatest film I've ever seen but definately worth the money.

I only have seen "Kid" movies in the last 2 years... thats what you get when you only go to the movie theatre with a 9 year old
Well, I did drag him to see James Bond... he loved that!

"Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" is of course a given..."The Bourne Identity" was definitely a good movie and so was "Minority Report"....I was dissapointed with "gangs of NY" too, but Daniel Day Lewis' role as Bill the Butcher completely made up for the long, drawn out flick...

Anybody seen Chicago? It's getting some fly reviews.... I am still weary though. From my experience most critics have opinions very different from my own. Except for Roger Ebert, I enjoy his critiques.

Going to watch Tadpole.
There are LOTR and Blue Crush.
Both are my faves.

The Ring ( Polska, this movie was tight man... the 75% that you didnt get you need to figure it out on your own)
Lord of The Rings: the twin towers- definetly better then the first one
Point of Origin ( not a theater movie but a new HBO movie...)
8 mile (pretty good movie...nice freestyling scenes)

Tolinka ... The Ring was well made. It did scare the shit out of my girlfriend but I was skeptical. I love when movies come full circle - like The Sixth Sense, that had a brilliant twist-ending. The Ring's twist ending isnt, well, even an ending. At least not really. It doesn't come full circle. It just seemed to me as if they took a great premise and worked around it until they came to a half-assed conclusion. (Rather than coming up with a solid beginning, middle, and end, and then filling in the blanks).

Polska- I understand what you are saying. The Sixth Sense was a great movie. It sorta reminds me of The Others, with a tist at the end.
But I think that the writer of this movie intentionly meant it to be like that so people will have to think over and over about the movie to try to make a conclusion out of it. This movie is just of a diffrent kind.
I still think it was the scariest movie I ever seen.
