that's because you are in a depleted state of glycogen at both times..

you need to have 1-2 meals in your system before training..

and at least 1.5 hours before training since your last meal..

Spy, doesn't a lot of that depend on your goals though? For example, if your goal is to be anabolic and build lean mass, then what you said is accurate. But if your goal is fat loss, the best thing would be to train and do cardio prior to any significant caloric intake because the body will burn more fat (as the energy source) as opposed to any food you may have stored. ???

My opinion is that even if you are looking to loose fat you still need the nutrition before a training session. Obviously your meals would be different dependiing on your goals.. My body will eventually go into a catabolic state if I dont... thats just me....

Damn work getting in the way.

Hard to say really, just when you feel the best for a gym session is when you should go.

Just goes to prove I guess that everyone is different. I absolutely love morning workouts. For me, the earlier in the day the better.

I actually liked later workouts when I was in my 20s. I'm 35 now and it seems like when I hit 30 the later the workout, the less intensity I had to give.
