    No psychiatric medications are tailored specifically toward the treatment of narcissistic personality disorder. Nevertheless, patients with narcissistic personality disorder often benefit from the use of psychiatric medications to help alleviate certain symptoms associated with the disorder, such as depression, anxiety, transient psychosis, mood lability, and poor impulse control. In addition, many patients with narcissistic personality disorder have concomitant Axis I diagnoses for which they are taking regular psychiatric medication. The following is an abbreviated list of sample medications from the 3 major psychiatric drug classes (antidepressants, antipsychotics, and mood stabilizers) that can be used to treat certain symptoms associated with narcissistic personality disorder.
