How to get back into lifting and the bodybuilding lifestyle???
Stupid question I know. A little quick history, I was doing really good about 4 months ago. I started lifting really heavy and pushing myself as hard as I could and eating really good. I was seeing awesome results but one day I just got burned out and I can't get back into healthy eating and the motivation to get a good lift in. I've tried a week off and I just feel worse when I get back into the gym. I WANT to get back into it but I've been telling myself tomorrow, tomorrow next week I'll start eating better and get a good training routine back.
EDIT: I've been lifting for 5 years, 1 1/2 years seriously

We have all been there. Question is how bad do you want it? If your hungry for it you will start it back up and you will get back to where you want to be in time.

I think I have a lot of factors going against me, my parents are in the middle of a messy divorce, someone close to me was about to commit suicide and luckily I found them and stopped them before they did anything, my girlfriends mom is sick. I understand family comes first but I'm thinking I just have too much on my mind. I want the lifestyle back bad but I just can't get on a good routine. I'll have an awesome workout but eat junk food (mostly sugary foods) all day or else I'll eat good but have a crappy workout, it seems that I can't get the two together for a few days. If I could just get a good week in I'd be back on track I know it

I wasn't drinking at all for awhile and about 1 1/2 months ago I started slowly. I would say 3-4 drinks/week. More now because of hunting season. My family does have a history of alcohol "abuse", not medically diagnosed but I would say my dads side of the family drinks more than normal

Your right hazard but will power can be a bitch especial with outside factors. Telling yourself to go to the gym or don't eat that doughnut is ten times harder when your troubled by other things. However with all that you said getting your diet in order and working out is gonna make you feel better. Gotta start somewhere.

I'm at the gym 4-5 days a week, I just need to use my time there better. I've been "fooling" myself lately. I pull the, "well this has say 30 grams of sugar but it has 10 grams of protein so its not that bad." Most of my crappy eating is at night after I get home from the gym.
I have no problem getting to the gym but once I get there I'll cut my sets short ex. 3 instead of 5 or I'll do lighter sets so they aren't as hard.

You need to get into the thread titled "Marcus' diary" - find it and read it from page one. You want inspiration? You'll find it there. It's a lot of reading but contains more information about making progress in this sport than any 10 threads here combined

I love this shit man...... I really do. I'm not gunna be on the Olympia stage..... I'm just dying to compete once. It's the feeling I get when I'm working out. It makes me feel good. That's all the motivation I need.

The more I read your responses op the more it sounds like your just lazy. You get to the gym and don't try hard, you know what to eat. Know one is gonna push you but you. I prefer more weak people in the world myself. Makes me look better

Thanks guys, I really really do appreciate all of the advice and suggestions. I had my diet nailed to a tee. I know exactly what I need to eat. I was on my way to the top and seeing awesome results but I just can't seem to turn all of this negative energy around into motivation for myself. I'll be hunting this weekend so that means beer and crappy diet but come monday I'm going to try and copy what I was doing 3-4 months ago. I was feeling awesome then, like I was on top of the world so there is no reason it shouldn't work now. This might sound dumb but I'm going to try and put some fresh songs on my ipod and create a new workout playlist.

Was this comment directed at me??? I understand it is very hard work and requires a lot of dedication, I was there once, well on my way there. I am just having a tough time right focusing and I thought maybe someone would be able to share some little tricks they may haved used to over come this.
