Pet peeve: Being called a bro
Hi Everyone
I love bodybuilding and fitness. I am not at the level i want to be but i am big and i work hard for it every day.
I am just sick and tired of losers for no reason referring to me as a "Bro" which is used in a negative connotation. I am a nice person, i don't disrespect anybody. I do not fit the stereotype other than i am yoked.
Anybody else have the same problem? Why do people feel the need to say things like that? Is it because we intimidate others? Are people jealous?
What do you guys think?

Appreciate the feedback.
Did not realize using the word yoked would get this reaction lol.
I should have prob used a synonym for that word. O well. lesson learned.

when I was in the middle east, all the street vendors would say "my friend" when talking and referring to you. Never saw these assholes before in my life. So I would tell them I am not their friend, I am their customer. Learn the difference.

OMG now that one hit a nerve with me.... When I was in Thailand, like you said all the street venders (middle Eastern) would try to stop you, step in front of you and even reach out and put a hand on your shoulder to stop you or try to pull you into their shop all the while saying MY FRIEND.
After about 4 or 5 days or this it got the best of me and I started saying MY FRIEND... What's my name? You dont know my name???? Then how am I your friend? Most of them were trying to sell suits and I was in the market but they just bugged the sh*t out of me with the MY FRIEND BS.
I walked by one store a couple of times where the owner/vender was standing out side and he did not use the My FRIEND ploy. He only smiled, nodded in acknowledgment and that was all. I bought 3 suits from him. I also told him why I choose his store over the others. I'm still very happy with my purchases, 3 custom fit suits with pants, shirt and tie for $120.

I don't want to change the topic, but rather than start a new thread, I figured I'd just ask on this one. How do you feel when someone calls you "bud"? I hate it. When I was a young kid, my elders would call me bud. I didn't have a problem with it then. But now, when someone my age (or even younger than me) calls me 'bud', it irritates the hell out of me. Most of the time, it's someone I've never met too. It almost seems like they have a Napolean complex, and they say it to position themselves 'above' you. Then I think to myself, if I'm so bothered by it, then maybe I'm the one with the Napolean complex?? But I've even asked some other people about it, and they hate it also. I don't ever say anything about it cuz I don't want to show that it does bother me. I generally just give them a "Whatever you say, little man" smile, and go on my way.
Then again, maybe I'm waaay overthinking it. Anybody else have a problem with being called 'bud'?

Bud, Chief, Boss = Pejorative...
Bro = endearing....
I'm not sure what kind of vibe the OP is putting out, but I know when I'm on gear and 'yoked' all the inferiors at the bar usually wanna be my friend and buddy up to me, not get smart ass attitudes....So, thats odd...
