Massive manhunt in BLOOMING GROVE, Pa

Reported this morning on the news there is a Massive manhunt underway in the Pocono Mountains Pennsylvanian for a cop killer. There were 2 cops shot, one died and one in critical condition.

They said there are over 100 cops from nearby regions who have joined the hunt already.

Now dont get me wrong. I sincerely hope they catch this/these guys. I'm not sure if there is more than one or not. My question is; Why is a cops life taken so much more serious than a normal everyday blue color or most any class individual?

If you are a middle class individual and you or a loved one is shot/killed you are lucky if they send out someone to take a report the same day.

Yes this is a slight exaggeration but not really that far off IMO.

I too hope they catch him. But to answer your question, That's just how gangs work. "Kill each other all you want, but don't mess with one of us."

Civilians will always kill each other, but to target a law enforcement officer (while/for doing his job) is the ultimate assault on society and HAS to be punished swiftly and harshly. If not, the state is essentially admitting that it cannot maintain order and anything goes.
Look at the countries where LEO are not even able to protect or avenge their own: they're all 3rd world shitholes run by crime syndicates (Mexico, parts of South America and Eastern Europe, etc).

The real answer is that if two people in gangs kill eachother, there is a good chance that nobody will ever know about it if they threaten the family etc. or the guy goes missing. There is no way you can kill a cop and make it so nobody knows about it.

I agree with your point re: the comparison of the murder of a civilian vs that of LE, however I also firmly believe this must be dealt with expeditiously for a number of reasons. I have many misgivings with LE and the way they do or do not do their job but in this case it must be handled with the highest priority. Also I do believe it would be if it were a civilian slaying/ambush at a place of work for a civilian as well. We cannot allow our society to turn into one of the places Bonaparte referred to in his post. It is unacceptable. This person/people must be caught and dealt with ASAP.

Speaking of anarchy. Looks like the tables were turned on these cops when the fans thought they were using excessive force.

Not that I'm aware of. I heard earlier today they are still looking.
