if your looking for a 3rd party messenger aside from the aim or icq you should also check out scim it uses rsa encryption and generates a key every time it is started.

secway's encryption is awesome. OG and i converse with it all the time without worry.

although i will add that it does slow down aim somewhat and once you set it up it is a hassle to fix all the proxy settings to make aim unencrypted once again.

get it to be safe.
