Is there some sort of medical record database that follows you around for the rest of your life? Where is it kept... and by whom? The government? Does your medical history from the military somehow get into this database after your SRB/Med/Dental records are sent to storage on the East Coast after discharge from active duty?
Basically - if someone had access to your medical history, what would they find? And how does that info get there? :scratch:
Actually as long as you signed that noone except yourself can look at your miliotary medical records than nobody can. I've even heard of certain files missing from personals medical records before. As for civilian medical records your doctors keep those on file along with hospitals you've visited, etc, etc,
Your medical records go into a nice big insurance company data base if you use insurance. And yes it follows you everywhere.
USN/USMC Enlisted Service Rec's go to the NAt'l records Center for storage, as do copies of Med/Dental records. The Veterans Administrations also gets a copy of Medical/Dental Records. Anything that was in there while on active duty at the time of discharge is accessable by governing agencies...med/dental recs are confidential, your service record becomes part of the FOIA, Freedom Of Information Act, information, which can be made available to almost anyone who can half-assed prove a want or need to access the info.
