    Gear for motocross

Im not sure how many people here might ride motocross but i figured id share my thoughts on the the benefits (or lack thereof) of being on cycle.
Im a 450 B class rider on a 250 2 stroke. On cycle the bike feels lighter, i have more agression, but i get crazy muscle pumps and my hands and arms lock up. Because of this i think its actually hurting me lol. I have to stop and wait for my hands to relax. I dont think the pros use any sort of gear. I dont see much of a benefit for it to be worth hurting a professional career for those guys. Then again i have no idea if pro riders are drug tested.

It seems to me speed and snap would be more beneficial. Perhaps winistrol??? I know the lock up feeling.

I have raced motocross for years... not as much now as I use to. Using gear and getting bigger has 100% had a negative impact on my ability to ride. I ran a cycle last year while riding and yes arm pump was awful. Also, the increase in weight affected me because that's just extra weight for your hands to hold on the bike.
I rode a 250 four stroke for a couple months of the season and being almost 230lbs put me at a huge disadvantage considering your average rider is like 5'7" and 145lbs.
Best advice I can give you is to grip the bike with your knees/legs. This will take some of the strain off your forearms. Also, try to ride consistently to build up some endurance in your forearms. Do 5 lap sprints, then work your way up to 8 lap sprints, and so on.
I'm excited for this season. My main focus these days is bodybuilding but I will still be doing some practices and races. I had my 250 two stroke motor completely moded and built by PR2 racing and I can't wait to race it.

Yes getting bigger isnt helping me. I used to feel like a jockey at just 5.5 but now im 175lbs and not exactly light anymore. It helps in jujitsu which i also do, but when i jump up weight classes it probably just evens out. However I'll never stop trying to gain size. I dont care if i ride and fight slower lol. Your right, Riding consistently is the key. I try to keep my toes pointed in and grab the bike with my legs but 250 2 strokes are shakey and brutal to begin with. I have a 92 kx125 that i just put gobs of money into the motor because i thought it would be fun to spank some 450's with an old faded green pos.

It makes your joints feel dry. Always take glucosamine with msm along with it. Strength speed i would run test p lightly with winny.

Jeremy McGrath was long suspected of it by some of us. We hung out with him a few times through the years and the dude was jacked. In his gear you couldn't really tell, but in person he was a monster in stature for his height. That was the mid 90s I guess.

Well I've ridden recreationally in the past, and yes it gets very exhausting, beats your forearms to hell. Legs sore as heck.

But if you need steroids to compete in your class, then maybe your just not cut out for it.

I know, you want an edge over the other competitors, but I just think juice for moto is a little over the top.

That's like a tattoo artist taking juice to get bigger forearms so he doesn't fatigue easily and can shoot longer sessions..

I ride quads and I have forearm pump issue's when on. GH I lose feeling in my throttle finger (you wont have that issue) but my hands go numb and I have to shake them out continuously. Epo would help with conditioning greatly, How Does EPO Work? | Runner's World quick explanation. Otherwise maybe low dose deca , but otherwise the muscle pump would work against you imo.

Lots of fun 250rs, wish I didnt sell mine. Mostly trail riding here so it didnt get ridden much and I needed the space. Now I just ride a bullet proof 450x. Whats yours set up for?

Bodybuilding is really my main concern. It just so happens that i also ride consistently so i took note of how i feel while riding on cycle. Your right a regular guy like me juicing up JUST for motocross is pretty silly lol. Its a great workout though. I feel great after a day at the track. Pumped up as hell.

I was fumbling around with the idea of doing deca in my next cycle but i learned more about it and i dont know if i want to use something super supressive at my stage. I definitely will use it down the road. Is epo OTC?

EPO is great for endurance. That with training and rest.

I can help you out with the EPO details if you decide I go that route. I've done it for the past 2 years racing endurance sports with great success.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Not in the states without a script for cancer treatment and a host of other disorders.
