My wife and I go to Jackson hole every year and fish every single day for 2 weeks. Anyways, we were wading a small shoal below Jackson Dam, no deeper than a foot. A sturgeon raced up and basically crawled over the shoal we were on and it had to be 12 feet long! It could have been longer. It scared the daylights out of us. She didn't wade the rest of the trip, but now we're both itching to catch a sturgeon. We live between Chattanooga and Atlanta and they started to reintroduce lake sturgeon close by. Not as big as what wee experienced out west, but it would still be awesome to catch one. I helped the dnr stock 10,000 of them one day on the Coosa river. Are you on the north east coast or south?

Absolutely. If not for hunters, we would have little (if any) whitetail deer left. People always harp on me for hunting, but they don't understand that it's because of us that we have an abundance of wildlife. And I feel better about myself by humanely taking game vs what those cattle "farms" do to those poor animals. Chickens the same. It's very sad. Anytime i take an animal, it's for food. I hunt to hunt, not to kill. When i do get blessed and dispatch ask animal, I always thank it for giving its life to sustain mine. I respect all animals I hunt and I only take what I can or will eat. I refuse to kill anything I won't eat.

You're going to be an addict! The only comparable rush in hunting is getting in bow range of a trophy buck. Hearing that thunderous gobble right at day break and hearing him work towards your call is unimaginable. It feels like a heart attack, I assume. And it's the best meat God ever created! If you get one I'll send you the best recipe. And if a turkey could smell as good as a deer, they'd be unkillable. You'll see what I mean one day when one busts you at 50 yards away and flys off just because you blinked.
