    Liberal or Conservative?

Just want to see where everyone sits. I'm a republican myself. I know this thread is probably gonna end up in some name calling, but what the hell. REDROCK

Actually I'm somewhere in between. Some days I'm more liberal, and some days I'm more conservative. Just depends on what we're talking about.

I agree with this 100 percent. It is almost impossible to side with one party completely.

Each topic should be handled seperately. Politics is bullshit.

I'm right between liberal and libertarian.
Liberal because IMHO, the gov't should be protecting people from each other's excesses, and libertarian because the gov't should not be protecting us from ourselves.
Am NOT conservative because I favor a clean environment, am against jumping into wars unnecessarily, am against combining religion with government, and am just too goddam good-looking to be conservative.

    right wing republican

i think that men that get on top should stay on top without damn commie government interfering!(clinton taking on microsoft)
microsoft never hurt the industry once they built it up not like the oil and steel trusts of the early 20th century

if guns were outlawed then only outlaws would have guns!

If a man rapes he should die none of this 2 year parol bullshit we should get western on their ass!

If a white man resists arrest and gets the shit beat out of em they have no defense(which is how it should be). If a minority resists arrest and gets wooped on they just scream police brutality! and get back at the cops for doing their job!!!!does this sound like equal rights for you

    *end rant here

I side with the Republicans. Although, I agree with the Dems and disagree with the Reps on some issues. I just don't trust any of the Dems enough to ever vote for them...even when a shytheal like Dukakis ran.

Hmmm why am i not surprised to see more republicans in a weiight lifting forum. There was a study done showing how as education rose the likelihood you voted for bush decreased dramatically. Interesting. Guess i'm an economic conservative, but more liberal socially and tend to vote more liberal.

Where was the study...Berkley? I have a bit of education..both my undergrad and grad degrees are in business...I guess that probably figures, though...a businessman voting for Bush.

Well then sir i commend you for breaking from the mold, i'm sure if they would have looked at a study of business majors they'd probably be some of the most likely.

I'm a democrat....Don't shoot me for saying this, but Communism would not be that bad of a government. Everyone is provided with what they need, and no one would have much to complain about. The problem with this , is th e fact that everytime someone has used this government, they've been nuts..(not literally, just a tyrant or on a power trip or some crap).

I think you are trying to say that the general poplution of this weight lifting forum is an uneducated group??!!

You're fuking stupid and off your rocker!! Studies ACTUALLY show that the more education a person receives, the more money they make, the more conservative they become. Democrats are mainly people with issues (i.e. gay, tree huggers, college students that don't have a clue yet, minorities, people living off of the government). These people don't pay taxes as a whole to begin with, so why would they care about taxes, economy, military, etc. Please note that I said "mainly" and "as a whole". Any arguement to these facts would be flat out ludacrous!

So which part of the "liberal group" I described above are you? I guess that you are still in college living off of mommy and daddy! Am I right?

I can see where you are coming from on both of those tryingtogetbig...and I agree.

Hoss, it is not that psychos are the only ones to try communism, it is simply the perfect environment to breed corruption. The "cream" rises to the top of the corrupt, and there is where you find your psychos.

I am not bashing communism, although I strongly dissagree with it.

Communism relies on surrendering individual rights and private property and runs on the mentality that the good of the whole is better than the good of the part. In addition, there is no check on the government's power, so they can practically do anything and are not accountable to the people. Remember, absolute power corrupts absolutely.

I lived in Soviet Russia for 2 years in the US embassy in 1988-1990. Communism is a horror and a terrible thing. Having the fear you may be taken away in the night because you voice opposition really sucks bro. Before you say you like the system of communism try living under it and watching the people outside those embassy gates suffer greatly.

Thank you for the insult you've shown you are the bigger man here. Maybe i am in college but i don't resort to elementary insults. Why is it that if i care about the world around me that makes me a hippy, is it wrong to believe in equality and in personal privacy? I guess so. And if you missed what i said i was i economically conservative but socially liberal. I don't believe in taxing the hell out of people but I also don't believe in the police state the conservatives are creating. Regardless of what u believe in we are heading to a more and more right wign dominated government and single party control isn't good for anyone. There needs to be a balance, i wouldn't want it to be democrat dominated either because soon taxes would be 80% and there'd be a social service for god knows what.

reminds me of the saying that if you arent leaning a bit socialist in your early youth, you have no heart - if you still lean that way by your mid 30s you have no brain

Its easy to be idealistic when you are young and have very little experience in the real world - even age doesnt always give you experience but as you get more of it you find out that the world does not operate teh way you thought it did when you were young

Libertarian = Republican who wants to legalize AAS but I am conservative - b definition, that means I am republican - since a conservative democrat is now an oxymoron

Bro, my father is a vietnam veteran. Grandfather a WWII veteran, who was in DDAY.. Uncle served in the Airforce for twenty years fought in the gulf war., and I plan on joining the Airforce of US Marine Corps to serve my country. I didn't say that I would like a ****ing communist government, or supported other countries that had used it. Read The Communist Manifesto, youll see a whole new outlook on it..and as far as my "spoiled little life" goes, I do as much as I can myself every step of the way. I didn't mean for it to sound like I was supporting them bro, and i'm sorry if i offended you.

are you suggesting that republicans are all conservative... and the rest are liberals?????????

also.. I just read.... equality???? give me a break.... nothing will ever be given to you... you must earn it.. you are not entitled to "affordable housing", or healthcare for that matter...

the statements you use are socialist.... the redistribution of wealth... what is "fair.." will never occur in a thriving society....

because there is no incentive to work...

I am not going at you on this.. allot of people on this board share some of your opinions... that believe it or not were and are influenced by your professors...

Do you know the sexual preferences of any of your professors??? Why.???? How does them stating their sexual preferences, or their political views enable you to learn anything????

PC... is a crock of crap............. no one is entitled to freedom... history shows us to be free to seek happiness a price must be paid...

    Reason...

in my lifetime.. I have seen all of these things happen..

First off no teacher or professor has given me my views. And i could care less of their sexual preference, it bares no relevance to my life. I'm just saying they should be free to make whatever choice they want, and not have their life choices considered unconstitutional according to the "sanctity of marriage". I would be lying if i said i didn't think homosexuality was disgusting. But it's not my life so who am i to hold them back. Second when i say equality i don't mean cookie cutter houses everyone has the same thing. Not at all. I speak equality in terms of racism, and acceptance of everyone regardless if you agree with their lifestyle. I'm a capitalist to the core, you missed my point entirely. Just because i say i'm more liberal doesn't mean i think we should tax the hell out of the rich and have everyone else get their **** handed to them. If you read my earlier posts i said i was a economic conservative. You jumped to a conclusion that couldn't be further from the truth about me. And i never said anything about PC. Say you whatever u want i'm proud of our freedom of speech, regardless of how vulgar or "politically incorrect" it may considered. If you really wnat a handle on where i stand www.lp.org. That sums me up.
