For all you race rocket fans!!! Check this out!!

Being a huge fan and former owner of a Yamaha R series rocket, they have yet again amazed me. They release the 2004 Yamaha YZF R1. This is one serious machine. When you sit there and think to yourself there is no possible way they could make a stock bike faster they come out with this baby.

    180 Horsepower Monster

    2004 Yamaha YZF R1

Enjoy I know when I by it I will.

That is exactly what I am talking about bro. This team with 180 horsepower I think the term Crotch Rocket is actually for real.

I don't think I'll buy one. I'm a stupid rider, so I would probably kill my self on a bike like that.

But that is definately a Man's Bike!

Well for the past 3 years the busa has taken the cake as the first straight line street bike. But not any more. The busa is alot heavier in weight at 473lbs and is only putting out about 157-160 horsepower stock. Where as the R1 is 180 horse and under 400lbs. The R1 has created a whole new league.

Really really fast in the 0-100-0.
not so much focused on the ease of use.

jesus, that thing has more hp than my car. by a lot.

That is exactly right. The Busa is known for its straight line speed like the quarter mile drag. Where as the other competetors ie: Yamaha R6 R1, Suzuki GSXR 600 and 750 and Kawi 600 and 750 and Honda 600 and 954. These bikes have the power to go with the handling.

Hey guys, looking to grab a bike in the near future, I'm leaning towards the Yamaha r6 or the '03 Suzuki GSXR 6000 - By the way I'm a beginner rider, what would best suit me?

Dont buy a new bike. Get a used gxsr or r6 ride it for a year then get a new bike like r1 or what ever fits your fancy. Resale value is not very good on new bikes. gsxr's and r6 are a dime a dozen you could get a used one maybe 4 years old for about 3500 then turn arround and sell it for about the same amount in a year or so. Thats what i do, get a used one and ride the snot out of it. There are a lot of people out there that get new bikes and get scared, park them in the garage and look at them for a couple of years then sell them with low miles. Being that your not a pro or ride at the track you dont need cutting edge technology. Save the new bike till you know that you like to ride and get serious about it.

Such a nice bike. I almost bought one but ironically, I smashed into a drunk driver in my mustang the night before. Made me decide not to get one. Plus, I crashed EVERY car I owned even a few I didnt. I would die assuredly on that bike.

same thing here. i would probably be tempted to wheelie the entire main street in my town each day... 180hp and an offroad crazy ass like me and youre sure to get good footage for a crash video

That's a sweet bike, I can appreciate sport bikes but they look so uncomfortable to ride.. Give me a big V-Twin anyday I love the hum of straight open drag pipes setting off car alarms wherever I go LOL! Maybe one day I'll get a sport bike, but that's some wicked power bro... very nice!!!

At the moment Im looking for a Yamaha Virago 535 750 or 1100 from the late 90's.

A buddy had one and I really like the way they look and ride!

havent ridden in years (also sine I totalled a Honda 600) so I want a cruiser to get over the fear of riding again!

But it is a tempting idea....180 HP under 400 lbs!

    WOW!!
