I know I've seen questions about respectable Bench BUT what bout Dumbell Presses?
How much weight do you guys consider good when doing Flat and Inclide Dumbell Presses?
And when you say the weight are you talking atleast 6-8 reps or only getting like 3 or 4??

i consider respectable anything over what i can do for 6 reps. my gym stops at 125's and i get them for at least 6 on my last set of flat and inclind, so im sure fresh i could get higher but my gym dont go higher then the 125's

I was talking about this in the chat room, my flat bench dumbell press blows compared to my flatbench barbell..
I don't use less then 120's 8-10 reps on the dumbell flatbench, and never less then 110's for 8-10 reps on the incline, usually by my 3-4th set, i have a guy help me up with the first rep then i just pump out at the least 8 good ones.. I know its very uninteresting, i was mentioning this in the chat room, but i am so much stronger on barbell its silly.. My buddy does incline FLYS with 100lbs dumbells, doesnt' say much now does it..lol...
Its a stricter movement, to steady the dumbells, and a bud of mine was looking at my form, and he said that i press over my head for incline presses, and i should be pressing out - this is hard to explain.. Ah it takes time, but I like them alot

I'd say anything around the 120s and above is respectable...and somewhat impressive.
that being said, the highest I've gone is 95s for 8.

My flat bench barbell workout i think is a stronger point, but not that much far off compared to the dumbell movements.. The hardest thing i had to work on as far as dumbell pressing was popping the dumbells up.. I say you gotta have strong front delts to pop those biatches up.. I don't steady one up, and then have someone hand it to me.. I'm sure i could go a lil heavier, with that method, but i havn't as of yet.. I found if on flatbench have both dumbells on your knees, and lean your whole body back knees and all you will roll the dumbells into position, it takes a few tries to steady yourself on the bench, but that seems to do the trick when you start to go heavy... LOL...incline presses, i can't even explain how i pop those up, same idea, but i'm not sitting on the bench, i lean back sit down and pop them up to my delts in one movement..

When I was doing dumbells for flat I was doing 125 for 6-8. However since i swtiched back the barbell it has gone down. With the bar I am benching 295 for 2 or 3, yet I can only press 100's right now on dumbells for 6-8. Oh well in march I will be switching back to dumbells so hopefully ill be back up there in time. by the way I weight about 165-170 pounds.

I am so impressed by some of the girls I see lifting. This one girl who was 18 at my gym was repping 135 with the bar. I thought that was real impressive. 45's on dumbells for a girl is extremely impressive. Some guys i know really really struggle with that.

Well I used to toss up the 180 on dumbell press and 120's on incline.... but the gym I'm at now only goes up to 120's. SO I do burnouts... that or explode on my positive lift and go extremely slow on my negatives.

I havent done flat in a while, started with incline two weeks ago and I went up to 105s and did 15 then 115s and got 8. It was so hard to get it off of my legs up to my chest. There is no way I could do it with out a spotter
