    Kids these days!

Listen to this shit. My wife is a middle school teacher and works with kids that have language disorders. You know, that room that never changes for classes? Anyway, the other day they were working on sequencing, since kids with language disorders have trouble organizing (the order of events in a story, for example) their thoughts. They are only 11 and 12 year old kids, so their assignment was to pick some kind of small project to break down. One girl chose "making a PB&J sandwich. They write the steps down on index cards, and put them in the correct order. First you get out the bread, PB, anf Jelly; then you get a knife, etc.

She goes around the room, desk-to-desk, to help them along. Well one of these 11 year old kids had a complete how-to for rolling a joint! First you break it up; then you remove the seeds; then you get a paper . . .
And his favorite show is That 70s Show, because they get stoned in the basement and tell jokes just like his cousins. Amazing . . .

I'll probably get flamed for this but so be it...it's the parents that aren't leading good examples for their kids these days. A kids foundation starts at home and to many times parents don't do enough for or with their kids to make a difference in their lives. I'm not saying all parents are bad, but in our society today to many times it's the kids who get the short end of the stick.

You're absolutely right. Parents do not spend enough time with their kids, especially in their crucial developmental years. They need role models and guidance, someone to set limits for them and show them some love. This kid is not a bad kid. He didn't know that there was anything wrong with what he was describing. Its just what he has been exposed to.
