OK, curious. How does a thread get a rating?

I know it's a stupid question, but all of a sudden I'm curious?

when you click on a thread, look near the bottom right of the entire page (bottom right of the quick reply box). there's a drop down menu for rating a thread.

and just because you asked this, i went ahead and rated this a 1 :dg:
