    Top 5 favorite bands/singers

Hasnt been a "Top 5" thread for awhile, whats everyones favorite top 5 band/singer?

    5. Lynard Skynard

    4. Alice In Chains--Lead singer died the day after i bought "Best of the Box."

    3. Tom Petty--Not one bad song.

    2. Linkin Park--Only "rock" band I really like today, I was pissed though because they were here in evansville, i had tickets, and they went out and got drunk the night before the concert and the lied the next day saying that Mike Shinoda had a "throat infection" when really they all had gone out and gotten drunk off their ass and lied so they didnt have to perform...ugh.

1.The Offspring--I love these guys, they spend like a year making a great album , rather then the other idiots who spend like a month making shitty music.

My tastes are all over the map, so here is what in the CD Changer right now:

    5. Tower of Power - "Best of... the Warner Years"
    4. Stevie Ray Vaughn - "Greatest Hits"
    3. Lennon (not John) - "5:30 AM Saturday Morning"
    2. Taproot - "Welcome"
    1. Linkin Park - "Meteora"

AFI gets an honerable mention only because I went to high school with those guys and still can't believe how far they have gone....

I'll toss in my $.02...actually, i'm making 2 lists, so i suppose i'm tossing in my 4 cents

    4. Dave Matthews Band - good laid back stuff
    3. Linkin Park - gotta have some harder stuff.
    2. Prodigy - a little old...but "smack my bitch up" still gets me fired up...
    1. Matchbox 20

Gotta add a second list for hip/hop...i'm sure less popular for most reading this...but gotta do it

    5. Warren G - from back in the day...nobody better
    4. Outkast
    3. N.E.R.D. - basically anything the Neptunes touch right now...

chrisadams is right, nowadays Thom Yorke could shit in to a can and smear it on a mic, and it would be critically acclaimed as high art.
