who is the tallest male pro bodybuilder/strongman in the sport. any pics/info/website. who are the showmen / characters in comp bodybuilding and what success do they get with the women!

I think Gunter Schlierkamp is the tallest pro bodybuilder right now at 6'2". The strongmen however, are almost all over that height. The tallest ones are usually around 6'8" or 6'9".

I think Jane Virtanen ( spelling?) from Finland is about 6'8". He was the champion a few years ago. There are a few others, but they are lesser known.

Lee Priest has to be one of the shortest people ever. I've never seen him fact to face but in photos the man looks like a midget.

I met Lee out at the Arnold and I didn't recognize him at first. He looked so freakin small....then of course he got on stage. The majority of the bodybuilders were short. Shawn Ray was another one that barely got above my shoulders.

i thought greg kovacs was the biggest, but i don't even think he has his pro card, he's 6'7 or 8 well over 350lbs dieted down....

I don't know kovac's height, but he's a monster. There are a few tall amateur bbers, but the only pro that comes to mind is ferrigno at 6'5 or so I believe.

Most of the strongman are all suprisingly tall, it seems pretty unusual to see any of em under 6'2.

I wasn't aware of Kovacs, so I did a search on him. He does have his pro card, but he is only 6'3". Still very tall for a pro though.

I can't find a pic of him on the net, but I'll keep looking. He's apparently a good family friend of a buddy of mine and I was told he signed with the WWE but is still training. I saw pictures of him beside The Undertaker and Macho Man Randy Savage and this guy is an animal. I think he weighs in around the 400lb mark?

This is a good thread for me cause I am a tall guy (6'5") and I sometimes find it discouraging when I see all these short guys winning shows and such. Oh well, at least women like tall guys and we taller folks average higher salaries. Mark

mfenske, man i wish i was 6'5 as tall as you, 6' here, my good friend is 6'7 only 220lbs, but i keep on encouraging him to eat and train like an animal, cause in a few years he's going to be a fortress.
