How effective is a (few) hot whiskeys for the Flu ?

**** I'm in a heap here. My army doc recommended I take a few stiff whiskeys with honey, cloves and boiling water then take to the bed with plenty of fluids. I'm feeling **** drunk at least, will I have the Flu plus a hang over?, only time will tell.... Poor ol' bouncer

A couple shots of whiskey are good for everything. Make sure it's that good Kentucky Bourbon though.

Too much whiskey= Flu + Hangover..

Not what I would recommend, but whatever works for you..

A better plan would be to drink some fluids, Gatorade is a great choice to keep your electrolytes stable, ibuprofen for aches, and a good sleep aid like Tylenol PM which will help with the aches and the restlessness that usually accompanies the flu..If you are experiencing nausea, OTC Emetrol is fairly effective, but a Doctor prescribed dose of Phenergan is the best route if you make a trip to the Doctor's office..Biggest thing is to make sure you DO NOT become dehydrated, especially if you are experiencing vomiting and diarrhea..

Doc slowly showing us himself. It's the sun in my face pose. Hydration is what it's all about with the flu as the doc said. I dont see a prob with one hot n totty. Will ease irritation of the throat, make you a little tired and shouldnt dehydrate too much. Just one. I def would not drink one if you r severely dehydrated.
