Why the fcuk are their so many friggin taxes on my cell phone bill........like a:

    Federal Tax
Nassau County Sales Tax - Services & Usage
New York State Sales Tax - Services & Usage
New York State Wireless 911 Surcharge
    Nassau County Wireless 911 Surcharge

Nassau County Special Fee <~~(special fee for what?!?!)
    Nassau County Surcharge
New York State Gross Receipts Tax
    New York State Excise Tax

Federal Universal Service Fund <~~(like you dont take enough out of my paycheck every week....you need to tax me more cause i own a cell phone?)
    Federal E911 <~~(wasn't there already 2 surchargs for 911)
Federal Wireless Number Pooling And Portability <~~(WTF is that one about?!?!)

no wonder i can never have a cell phone bill under 200 bucks!!!...............sorry guys, but are New Yorkers the only ones that get sh!ted on in this deal or is it everyone else?.......**** cell phone companies.....like its not enough already that they charge you .75 cents a minute if you go over your plan either

Not to get you hotter... but the Universal Service Fee is so people who can't afford phones can have one dirt cheap, then we all pay for it when they skip out on the 500 dollar bill from calling their meth dealer one county over every 5 minutes to see if the latest batch is done.

Pooling and Portability is so you can tell your cell phone company to shove it where the sun don't shine, and you can take your number to a new company. Of course, they charge you for that right.

By the way, don't feel too bad... my phone bill is routinely over 400 dollars... good thing the company picks it up, or I would be screwed. But add in normal minutes, GPRS data, text messages, and overseas roaming and it all adds up.

I pay $47 a month including taxes and get unlimited local and long distance calls with all the services that you can have on it. Cell phones are cheap here.

Here is one that pisses me off with cell phones. They charge me 20cents a minute long distance right but when I am using the long distance and paying that 20cents they are also using my minutes of air time I bought too.

I told the guy at the customer service that this is double dipping. You are charging me 20 cents a min. and taking away from my minutes that I have on my plan. What the hell is that??????

Or if I am in another city and my buddy is standing right beside me with his cell phone and both of our numbers are from the city which we come from...when we call each other it is long distance. Hell we are standing right beside each other.

These companies just love sticking it to us don't they!

The bad thing is, no matter what cell company you go with, they all pay the same taxes. Some just roll it into the fee of the plan, others get you with the "cheap" plan and then tack on the taxes seperate. They all get it in the end.

Where the hell do you people live? In South Florida cell phones are cheaper than a home phone that has less services included. I am actually considering getting rid of my home phone. No point in it. At home I have to pay for long distance and extra for call waiting, caller id, etc. With my cell phone it is all included. I make all my long distance calls on my cell phone cause it is free with the service. Do any of you have an UNLIMITED minutes calling plans like we do here, and if you do is it as cheap?

Nobody commented that it was the two females that had the $200 phone bills and all the guys were way cheaper? No stereotypes broken here!

Danielle...I'm from Wastechester and get hit with the same fees. A friend of mine talks on the cell more than a teenage girl and he got an unlim plan from Nextel for $100/mo. Can't you do something like that? This guy works outside all day so he doesn't have an office phone and when he calls me from his house it's always from the cell. Wouldn't that be easier?

My cell phone bill is usually between $40-50 a month. I have anywhere from 700-1000 day minutes and unlimited night (after 7 pm) and weekends. If I go over the plan minutes I call customer service and have them adjust my plan and just back date it so it's active from the beginning of the month. Found out I could do that after getting a $200 phone bill.

My father lives in AZ and he told me they have something called Cricket. I think it's $40 or $50 flat rate and you get unlimited calling anywhere in the state I believe. If I lived out there that'd be the one I'd go with.

More importantly, someone else is paying for DocM's cell phone service. As they should, a cell phone is just another tool in a physician's gameplan.

DocM are you an employee of a hospital/clinic or do you have your own practice?

I just got rid of my Cingular phone cuz I was getting charged for alot of ****. My phone bill never went under $100 in 3 years. Now I have a Sextel (nextel) and I pay $65 a month but I get 1000 minutes and free direct connect which is the 2way feature. Also, I get voicemail and long distance included but the only crappy thing is I get charged for text messaging.
