Largest Bear Ever Captured(GRUESOME!)

Don't be eating when you look at this.* It's pretty gruesome!
The following pictures are of a guy who works for the Forest
Service in Alaska. He was out deer hunting. A large world record Grizzly
charged him from about 50 yards away. The guy unloaded a 7mm Mag Semi-auto
into the bear and it dropped a few feet from him. The monster was still
alive so he reloaded and capped it in the head. It was over one thousand six
hundred pounds, 12'6" high at the shoulder, 14'
to the top of his head. It's the largest grizzly bear ever recorded
in the world. Of course, the game department did not let him keep it.
It will be mounted and put on display at the Anchorage airport (to
remind tourist's of the risks involved when in the wild).
Think about it. You would be level with the bears belly button when
he stood, he would look you in the eye when walking! This bear on its
hind legs could walk up to the average single story house and look over the
roof at eye level.* The bear had killed 2 other people.
His last meal was the poor fellow on a nature hike. The Forest
Service found his 38-caliber emptied. He shot 6-times and hit the grizzly

found seven 7mm slugs and four 38caliber slugs in him) but obviously only
wounded him since it was estimated to be 3 days prior to the bears death by
the Forest Service man.

1. The pics are doctored...I first saw those pics a few years ago. It was even mentioned in a hunting magazine as trick photography/photo editing.

2. I saw the mangled leg pic last year...it was not from that bear.

Geez man, wev'e got some nasty wild/poison animals over here in Oz, but nothin that looks as flat out big and bad as that friggin bear!

I have shot big fat mean wild pigs ("razorbacks")
and let me tell you they scared the absolute ****e out of me - and theyr'e probably about one third the size of that thing...

Yeah that bear wasn't even a world record. A big bear by any means but not the largest. A big hoax and one of the better hunting one's.
It was actually shot by a bear hunter not a wildlife forestry worker.

i've been to alaska and have seen stuffed bears in sports shops. it's one of those things that you need to see first hand to believe. one was an 11ft polar bear that weighed about 1700lbs. i'll try to post some pics of me standing in front of it.

Yeah, Polar Bears can weigh more, but the average Brown Bear is larger in length.

im not 100% sure that a 45 or even a 44mag would penetrate the skull. Skulls of very large bears can be up to 1/12 inches thick. I personally would have a high powered rifle not a handgun because you would have to be too close to have a "chance" in killing it with a hand gun. Im certain that a 7mm(Mag), a 30/30 or a 30/06 shooting a 175-180 grain bullet would do the job.

If you had to use a handgun you would have to hit it in "the kill spot" Its a spot right behind the front leg the size of a basketball . this is where the heart and other main organs are buried. Handguns are deffinatly not the ideal weapon but i always carried one just in case. Atclose range theres a chance you could get threw the skull with a higpower handgun.
