How big is big enough too...

Wear wife beaters in the gym and people respect your size? I always see the tiny ass guys sporting them, or the big fat guys. So at what size do you think its ok? I ask because one of my friends that I work out with always wears one. He askes me why I dont wear one and I say that I am not big enough.... I wear long pants and a loose ass t-shirt. He thinks I am crazy, but I am not very big at all. So what size is it ok? I know 2 or 3 years ago I would be so very happy at the size I am now, but not anymore. I still feel small.... I often wonder if I will be happy with my size.... so far not yet

Heh...I'm 5'7 and 175, and i wear one at my gym in school. In the gym i pay for, i wear a nice tight cotton T-shirt. 15 inch guns don't require a wifebeater or a sleeveless shirt yet...I'm waiting til i hit 16 or 17 so i can earn the right to wear those

I don't sport a wifebeater or a sleeveless shirt.. I wear sweat shirt, or just a t-shirt.. I don't think there is an answer: When are you big enough to wear a certain thing.. cause like you said, you like alot of people on here still feels they look the same they did in the mirror as they did when they started training.. I know i still do, 90lbs heavier then i started.. Go with what your comfortable with, my good friend sometimes goes shirtless at the gym... he's 5'11 260lbs 10% bf, to each his own..

As Digital Underground would say..."Do Whatcha' Like" Seriously...wear what you want, and don't worry about other people. Yea, some people look like idiots in their wife beaters...but some people really like to be able to see the muscles that they're working...kind of to help the mind-muscle connection...i say, do whatever works for you.

I usually just wear a baggy t-shirt...but if you're more comfortable in a wifebeater, or a tank top...wear one.

I don't wear them.I wear what's comfortable for me on that particular day.

And most of suffer from the "I'm not big enough syndrone",but in reality we're bigger than most pencil necks could ever dream of being. But in our quest for larger muscle mass, most of us will never be content.

I'm not happy with my size at all. I would like to be around 250 with about 8-9% body fat. I've got a lot of work to do. I'm thinking of putting off my NYPD career so I can continue my AS career first.

Id rather wear a tight t-shirt, than a beater anyway. I am almost 75 lbs heavier than when I started and I still feel small as I did when I started. I was just seeing what yalls thoughts were. If I were to wear one id feel way too small doing so....

i wear what's best to lift in, and that's a sweat shirt and sweat pants, keeps your muscles warm in between sets, i don't care what i look like in the gym, only what's best functionally, i look big in sweats, anyway

hmmm.... i have 18" arms cold and the only reason i would wear one is because my shirts are starting to get uncomfortably tight when i do my arms. i think im still too fat to wear a wife beater anyway. they cling to my love handles (which are CONSIDERABLY smaller than what they used to be mind you) i waer tank tops sometimes because i look yoked in them.

I thought everyone wore those string tank tops and biker shorts. Best clothing for me is a sleeveless T that i cut the sleeves off and a pair of basic shorts. Gets the job done.

I stay covered up too. Feels more comfortable and keeps my body warm. But I don't think you have to be a certain size to get away with wearing a tank top...I think you just have to be very proportionate and defined. Then it'll look good. A 300lb Fat guy wearing a Tank Top would look retarded. But a 170lb Lean guy suits the Tank Top. If you can pull it off, you da man.

I'm 6'1'' @ 190 lbs and 7% body fat. My symmetry is really good, my lats and traps give me a taper that most people would kill for. I wear full cover ups whenever I lift. Baggy pants, and a long-underwear fully sleeved shirt. I've put on 45 lbs in the last 2 years and no matter how big I get I still feel like I'm small, probably always will. And like some of the other bro's said, I don't lift for anyone but myself, I'm there to improve myself as an individual, not put on on a show. When I was like 150-155lbs I used to wear wife-beaters and sleevless shirts, I can't beleive I ever did that. I would honestly feel stupid if I dressed like that in the gym now, can't explain why....

    Peace

I wear shorts, cuz it's comfortable (and it gets hot). I also wear a sleeveless black shirt which is pretty long. It's comfy, and I need to look at my arms during my sets, it's motivation. I don't like wife beaters tho, they are too open.

I always workout in a tank top
and I almost always wear tanktops everywhere else to and if its chilly a lose shirt over it. I hate clothes, the thicker and heavier the more I hate them.

dont think it matters. Its up to what you like. I rip the sleeves off old T's and wear huge ass mesh shorts. If i dont on arm or shoulders day when i lift my arms up high my shirt goes up and thats just silly.

    wife beater

I don't believe there is a comfortable size for one. Whether it is a muscle shirt
or a wifebeater, I think one should wear one to see the actual muscle working
and flexing. That is what I do. If I don't see my front delts flexing on front
raises, I am not doing it right.

I wear mostly sleevless shirts or my old Georgetown jersey and a pair of shorts under my pants when lifting. Living in WI ya gotta wear pants to the gym. It's been below zero for most of the last 2 weeks. The pants are usually off by my fourth set or so. I feel that I am big enough to wear the sleeveless or tank-tops @6'5" and 232ish. Used to be 285, got down to 210, worked back up to 232. If others don't like it, screw em'. I've earned it. Mark

My arms are definitely my greatest asset, but i don't wear ANY wifebeaters. I think if you can sport a regular t-shirt and people notice your size still, that is a much bigger complement than trying to show off.

I never weat wife beaters or tank tops... yuck.

At the gym I wear ratty old T-Shirts (mostly Hanes beefy t's) and a pair of shorts.

I never wear sweatshirts or track pants... darn it gets too hot for those, I'd be soaked in an instant! Besides, I gotta show off my nice legs

Tank tops. I like to see the muscles while I lift and what kind of pump I'm getting. My arms are close to 19" pumped but I've dressed in tanks since I had 13" arms. I feel more comfortable.
