Any decent shop will charge you 100+ an hour, plain and simple. How big is the tattoo?

Don't go cheap when getting a tattoo............ you will have it for the rest of your life. Like Elliot said the price depends on the size, artist, and where it's placed on your body.

yeah they are supposedly award winning tatoo artists. but usually that just means they charge more than other usually, money isn't really a problem because my uncle is paying for it but i dont want to run him more than 200 because i would just feel bad. But i dont mind paying a bit more for quality

Guys that work out of thier houses are usually cheap or if you go to prison you might be able to get it for free for some favors

Seriously I wouldn't worry about the price but the ability of the artist you will have it forever.

for a tattoo that covers your whole delt w/ a decent amount of detail like the one you posted, you better expect to pay over $200.

Like BDTR said most places charge $100+ per hour.

Good luck, because once you get one, they'll be more to come!

I get atleast 1 every 2 years. talk about addicting!

Just my .02 Check around and find out when the next major tattoo convention is coming around. Save your money up and in the mean time think about what you want and where you your tattoo. Going to an internation convention of tattoo artists is going to give you the option of choosing one from the best tattoo artists around the world and getting some of the best work done to your body. I swear you will not regret it!!!

You'll pay about the same price as some local artists and sometimes you'll pay more for the best guys in the world to do you ink but it is well worth it IMO!! When I left MI, the best guy for portraits, black/grey, and animals lived in Berkley ( Tom Renshaw) he frequents alot of the conventions and most of the time you can see his work in mags. If your in Boston i would take a drive to NY and visit a guy named Paul Booth who is also one of the best in the nation.

Yup, good luck if your gonna try that.

Try this guy @ Blue Heron Tattoo, http://www.blueherontattoo.com/
I meet him at this years tattoo convention in Boston He's done alot of my bro's work. Reall talented Guy!! You can email him the pic and he can probably give you an estimate.

I'm heading up there this month to get some more ink. He is also sick with free hand work, tell him what you want he'll draw it up and make any changes you want.

It comes every year around the same time, WBCN usually sponsers it. I don't think there is a website for it, if there is I never saw it. I just know some people in the biz and hear from them.
