I'm not surprised, Maybe not our generation but in the distant future you could probally be able to do anything to yourself or your kids, by manipulating your genes and chromosomes.. Right now they are just brushing the surface with gene therapy.. Hopefully i won't be around, when it's not out of the ordinary to see clones of humans, and a family full of arnolds and jenna jamiesons...haha

I don't disagree with it, but thats the way science is progressing.. It depends how you look at it.. It may have a negative impact, and at the same time it may be tremendously positve..

What does the future hold for sport? I think that as time goes by we are going to see amazing leaps in human performance due to gene manipulation. Hell, in the not so distant future they are going to be engineering children while still in the womb so you tell how they are going to trace that crap. BORN PERFECT. interesting to see the longevity of these supposed gains that the rats had...eventually without the proper nutrition atrophy would occur one would think.

also, AIDS patients that were relying on expensive hGH treatments could spend a flat amount on gene therapy and not waste away.

i can't even imagine what will be around in another 5 years...
