Dont buy EXXON or MOBILE gas

This was from an email that Im sure a lot of you got by now or maybe even saw it last year. US gas prices expected to hit 3.00 dollars by summer.
Remember when gas was 1.60 and we thought that was high. Now we are used to it and think it is normal. When it starts getting to 2.00 we think that is high. Well 3.00 will make all that seem cheap.

The boycot gas for a day thing is a joke and doesnt work. But the boycot certain gas stations seems easy enough and I will ACTUALLY stand by it. Shell gas is where I normally go anyway and there are plenty of them. Even Arco is ok. The mass emails are going out Im sure some of you will stick to it. The ones who wont are the poeple who only have exxon gas cards or only use the exxon station by their house.

    Thats about it.

yeah. I heard ARCO dilutes their gas.
Not gonna start saying ARCO dilutes their gas cause it is just rumor.

Alot of people say it as if it is fact.

Just to be sure, I started to stay away from Arco even though I ALWAYS went there.
Just shows how rumors cause effect.

Poetic justice to all of those that drive trucks/suv's because they are "tough" or make them "feel safe" and don't need them. Mark

Why is that poetic justice? Most SUVs get better gas milage than earlier cars on the roads. Most SUVs get about 18 miles to the gallon where as my old MR2 got about 15 and that was WAY SMALLER.

Poetic justice for those parents who want to feel safe when they drive their families around? Come on now. Why do they not need an SUV? Should they drive a minivan instead? Minivans get the same gas milage and look like s h i t.
Probably have cleaner gas emissions than yesterdays cars too.

Come to Europe..."Benzina" is 1.17 Euros (about $1.45) per LITER!!! When I go to the states and see folks sneering at $1.60 a gallon...I just wish they could get hit by the Socialist, high taxin' bastards that set gas prices over here!

How much is a liter to a gallon? I think I would waste money driving to the gas station in Europe to fill up.

What I am talking about is when people buy huge land yacht vehicles (Hummers, Full-Sized Pickups, Excursions, Hemi Ram, etc.) that get terrible mileage. Most trucks and SUV's average less than 15 mpg. They buy them for their rugged capabilities and they never see anything higher than a speed bump at the mall. They could probably do just fine with a station wagon or similar vehicle, spend less on the car and gas. Mark

I will say true on all that. They show commercials with suvs climbing over rocks and in the mountains when real people would NEVER take a 40k car near a tree or rock in avoidance of a branch scratching it or a rock popping up. Sure commercials sell those things but a lot of people do buy them out of safety for their family. My full sized f150 gets 18 mtg. Even my diesel 450 gets 17 mtg.

Hummers are a different story. That is just status symbol and I will help you stomp on those people cause that is where I agree with you. Hummers are not practical for anything except military. Ford excursions are kinda big even for a family.

    SAVE THE DINO.

LOL. Thats true. All the new trucks coming out now where they have the cover over the bed and it is not meant to be used. That was a good point.

its call a turbo with 22psi of boost and no cat.... i can drive around on 93 or 94 fine, but it rides the knock sensors with timing retard so to get full advance i run the good stuff in the summer. ahhh the smell of race fuel. gotta love the new electronic cars.... lets just say big fire balls out the back of the car make the people behind me go running for their lives

Station Wagon??? Who in their right mind would drive a station wagaon?

I am proud to drive an F350 diesel 4 wheel drive!! I don't buy a vehicle for gas mileage. I buy what I want. Even if diesel goes to $4 a gallon, I can still afford to drive it every day. And yes, mine gets to see lots of rocks and mud.

Oh yeah, when I pull up at the gas station to fill up my boat, there is another 95 gallons of Super Unleaded I have to buy also. Serves me right? Yeah, it does, some of the stuff that happens in that boat are priceless!!!

I have a Grand Cherokee with that 5.2 liter engine (at least it isnt the 5.9 or I would be broke) - I do wince every time I go to get gas but then it has saved me a lot of hassle this year in the snows up here - I can pull a lot of people out and go where ever I need when everyone else is stranded - besides, its so nice to beat those prissy little rice rockets off the light when I stomp on the gas and hear the roar of that V-8

Keep in mind - a LOT of the gas price here is in taxes, NOT what the oil costs - congress is thinking to raise tax some more to pay more highway stuff - elephants or asses, they are all pigs at the trough

I usually buy Sunoco 94, when i can.. I really don't shop for gas prices, I just go and fill up.. How are gas prices going back up?? Don't we occupy where 90% of all the oil comes from, can't we cut ourselves a break..LOLLLLLLLLLL We're running sh!t over in the middle east, whats the deal?? Gas prices are government regulated.. Why are they going to raise prices again?

Has nothing to do with the governement (in the US anyway). Go to google and do a search on "OPEC".

Ohhhhhhh... I see, they agreed on a suprise cut in output because our U.S. dollar is so weak... hmmmmm, must be just one of those things huh..

"At a meeting in Algiers, Opec energy ministers agreed to trim output by one million barrels a day from 1 April. The weakness of the dollar and concerns that demand will wane in the summer are thought to be behind the decision."

"Also, Opec traditionally tightens supplies in the spring in anticipation of weaker demand during the summer months. However, United Arab Emirates oil minister Obaid bin Saif al-Nasseri said Opec may raise its production quota again when the cartel next meets on 31 March. If we see no need for a cut we may reverse the decision, he said. Opec last agreed to reduce its production quota in September, when it trimmed output by 900,000 barrels a day."

This is some great thinking here, when is everyone drving around, in the summer, lets cut our production in the spring, so we can raise the price of the oil.. Then everybody makes a sh!tload of money.."

Bastards, I need my own oil rig.. Then i'd be running sh!t

How do they figure demand will wane in the summer? I read that same thing the other day and wondered where they were getting their BS from. I always thought demand went up in the summer!?

im down with this bermich but its not their faults its beacuse the arabs are reducing production and that makes us take it up the ass. but ill do my part!
we need to get an alternative so we can get out of the grip these guys have on us cause they can make whatever price they want and we have to pay or not drive.

It worked once before but then people stopped doing it after prices went down a little bit. I didnt choose the two companies. It was just stated that these two were the biggest so they were chosen. I mean only two were selected. Not like it is saying to go to only ONE certain station. Texaco and Shell are still good stations.
If two gas stations are losing customers nation wide, they will lower prices to get customers back. Once those stations lower prices, then the chain continues downward cause now everyone will go to those two lower priced gas stations and then the other stations will also lower to compete with their loss of business.
