I'm really glad I don't have a disease that causes me to crap my pants uncontrollably

That would more than likely be unpleasant, despite the obvious social perks, namely immediate and unconditional popularity. Oh yeah, I just remembered something. I found a cell phone and an expensive one too. The guy cancelled it (I can't make calls). What I want to do is get a new number on it and use it myself. Does anyone know how to go about this? I hear if I remove the SIM card then it's okay? This isn't illegal is it? Cause I'm not, nor have I ever been, involved in any illegal proceedings. None. Anyways, I have a friend who is starting work at a Telus this week and guess what? It's a Telus phone. Eat **** narcs. What should I do? Can I do it without the friend? I hope so. Seems to me finding like a $300 phone should come with some perks.

You lured me in here with such a promising thread title, hoping to see pics, but instead you just wanted to talk about cell phones? I'll just get my coat and leave

ps- I know nothing about cell phones. I can barely operate the one I have.

If he reported it stolen or lost, the SIN is logged in as such, and the phone is rendered permanetly useless. Maybe your buddy could do something, but prolly not. I worked for a cell company and unless you're someone special, it wont work.

if it is sim card operated you can do it, but again if reported stolen they can track you down.

I have a $300 cell phone. I got it for Christmas three years ago - thanks Mom! Too bad the most advanced function I know how to use is the phone book . . . I keep it turned off most of the time anyway.

Nathan, every phone has a distinct "serial number", regardless of the sim card in it. If the guy who lost it reported it stolen, then it would not be wise to try and re-activate it with a new sim card.

Don't do it, if you activate or try to activate it then your responsible for it if he reported it stolen.

I don't think anything will happen to you if you try, but it wont work...an ex of mine bought a phone for me and of course when we broke up she had it shut off. But she had to report it stolen to get out of the contract. I tried to reactivate it, but they couldn't do it.
