A far-reaching proposal from the FBI, made public Friday, would require all broadband Internet providers, including cable modem and DSL companies, to rewire their networks to support easy wiretapping by police.

If that ever comes to be reality I can see the instant massive growth of privacy online companies which encrypt and mask all of your internet activities. Use these software packages and not even your ISP can track your sessions.

With George Bush in office, it will and can pass.
But like Chico said, a lot of secure network companies will become rich once they start selling privacy software that can istantly hide your internet trail.
