Ju-Jitsu ?

For a few years i've thought about getting into this sport and I know a few of you are into it my question is it like a street fightting art ? Cause that's what i'm interseted in.

its 100times better, streetfightin is really when you have no clue how to defend yourself or attack.....ju-jitsu is alot better, so yea u should hop into the sport, just dont become some asshole who thinks your a badass bc your takin jujitsu classes, eveyone today has a equalizer

Not really even though alot of streetfights end up on the groung, I have been studying brazilian jiu jitsu but I like muay thai better for it's knees and striking.

When Jiu Jitsu, traditional, sport or Brazillian (Gracie) teaches you to bite, eye gouge, fish hook, stab, slash with a knife, beer glass, ash tray etc. When it teaches you to stomp up and down on your opposites head untill their dead and lots more unspeakable things I'll say Jiu Jitsu is 100meters ahead of street fighting, untill then I'll say it prepares you for a fight alittle better than the guy on the street but it will never teach you the raw violence which goes along with street fighting. Look into some MMA schools in your area, preferably with Vale Tudo and your on your way. But don't tell them you want to learn street fighting, because if someone entered the Dojo I train and said that they'd be shown the door rapidly.

Bro,

Some of the toughest street fighters I've ever seen never had a days worth of Martial Arts lessons. They just had "IT" in there heart to fight. Now with that said, if they would have had solid Martial Arts experience some of those guys would have been down right frightening.

Go to some classes and just watch, you'll know when you find the right instructor. And as for "IT" you either have "IT" or you don't!
