I'm in college. I'm only taking three classes this semester. Telecommunications & Networking, Information Systems, and Advanced Newswriting and Reporting. None of them are too hard.

I had Business Stats last semester. Thank goodness we didn't have to memorize any of those formulas. We were allowed to have a sheet with all of our formulas on it and we just had to know how to apply them to our problems.

Yep. Hardest class would be modern physics. We spent almost 5 hours today doing the Millikan Eye Strain... err... Oil Drop... experiment, and we still didn't finish it. But that's ok, neither did anyone else in the class. The one person who has gotten the farthest on the lab spent over 15 hours during spring break doing it.

I'm in school now. I haven't had too many hard classes but I've gotten extremely lazy as of late so I dropped mgt 373 and blaw 367. The blaw was a realestate law class that blew ass. Doofy, you got to palm beach atlantic? I was just there on spring break. Is that the school off okachobee? We hit up the blue martini 3 times while we were there....ah spring break memeories

I HATE calculus 1. Calculus 2 is not so bad, but calculus 1 ohh my good!!! Cant wait until next year when all the physics starts. So far I have gone through mechanics and now I have optics and acustics. Boring!! I want to get to quantum mechanics and relativity and cosmology now!!

U got that right chris, **** fourier, that bastard.

I always love how other majors talk about math like its the devil, especially business.

Right now I'd have to say Organic Chem II and Thermo are just about tied.

Johan- I felt just the opposite about calc. Calc I, the first half of the chapter would be like the long formal way to do the problem and then they teach all the short cuts, so really if you procrastinated it ended up paying off, isn't that a good change.
BTW, quantum mechanics, not really all that interesting, I really looked forward to it too.

decadbal- I always hear that about grad school, I was talking to my friend yesterday (comp sci) and he said ppl just talk it up and try to get ya worried about it, or something to that effect. I think he has 2 classes right now and spends around 20 hrs every 2 weeks which really doesn't seem bad at all.

    Ditto.

I want to get to quantum mechanics and relativity and cosmology now!!

What level relativity? You should cover that in your first year of physics. Beyond that, the math gets pretty complicated... usually it's taken at a grad level, after you mastered tensor analysis.
I'm just writing here below the quote because I got the error message when I submitted my normal in-quote text:

    HEY!! Don't ruin the anticipation!

On a serious note, did you take an intro to QM class, or a grad level one? I hear the grad level ones completely envelope your life.

Finally someone agrees that dance classes are hard...
I feel for you guys taking the maths and sciences, but my classes are hard also, just physically strenuious, not to much on the mental stuff.

As for my mentally hardest class I would say Principals in Theatre Lighting.. Im not good with angles and math and figuring out if I have this wattage and this lamp at this angle how big of a cicle will I get and will it conflict with the shadows coming from this light on the other side of the stage... Plus we had so many hours we had to do in the shop and running shows it was crazy, and all for 3 hours credit.. BS..

Smart move. Bachelor's degrees are more and more common... higher education will continue to rise in demand.

I think anyone in college for business or the sciences should seriously consider going to graduate school. If you don't, someone else will... and very well may take your job.

God you guys are making me jealous!!! I would give anything to be 19 and in college again!

Fun, no real responsabilities, the oportunity to learn and think freely... was the best years of my life.

    *sigh*

    I miss it all

I hear this quite a bit. I'm curious why people say that... if someone is going to go through the hard work and effort to major or minor in mathematics or the hard sciences, they undoubtedly enjoy them so some appreciable degree. Four-pus years would be a long time to fake enjoying a subject!

Kinda like the 'normal' population saying they feel sorry for us people who go the gym, day in and day out, year after year... it may be hard, but deep down, we enjoy it!

But the fun totally makes up for it!!! All those parties I can't attend due to studying all night... all that beer I can't drink because I have to go the gym the next morning after my exam and 4 hour lab... all those girls I don't see because I'm stuck inside the experimental physics lab all day... ...

    ... ...

LOL, college is whatever you make it. Sometime I wish I could do the fun stuff, but there would be an overwelming feeling of dissatisfaction that I could not live with.
