Back in the day, when i was younger i had a Traxxas Sledgehammer, Hawk, and an RC-10, built them, and raced them every saturday night.. Then i got into the asphalt racing, with the 1/10 scale onroad cars with the foam tires.. Good times, now i build and race the real deal..

Bringing back memories, that was alot of fun..

Have been building a 57in Deep-V hull race boat entirely from scratch for the last year and a half. ("Cigarette boat" look)

Got the hull done (styrofoam covered with fiberglass) and am machining the cylinder head of a Homelite 25cc string trimmer motor to convert it to water cooling.

Next step is making a mount for it and ordering a prop/rudder kit....

And then the most expensive part will be a R/C Watercraft remote kit...

Finally when it's all together and it works, I'll give it a nice marine gelcoat paint job.

I expect to finish it by the end of the summer.

I'll take pics next time I go up to my country house.

That sounds awesome, I'd like to see that, I can't imagine how you are water cooling that engine, thats a 2-cycle motor, thats pretty neat stuff bro.. Good luck with it, 57 inches is close to 5 feet long man.. Thats going to be a cool project..

Well hopefully this year i get to race with some of the big names like Adam Drake and Brian kinwald. Last year i blew my shot to race against Drake at the keyosho nitro challegne. Oh well, i think im gonna just stick with small races for the whole year, make sure my truck is good an solid and make sure i have a good pit buddy and hopefully i'll get my shot to race with the big boys soon... Man im gonna look funny up there in the stands, big ole muscular dude racing with all these skinny kids HAHA...

I have a Traxxas T-maxx 2.5 that's pretty tricked out. It's just been sitting in the shed for the last year though. I get tired of tuning the engine every time it changes 5 degrees outside.

Well, one of my neigbours up north made one and I fell in love with his boat instantly. I just HAD to make one. The speed of those things on the water is downright insane... you know you got a nice toy when you do 50+mph on water and kick up a roost that makes all the "fill size" boaters stop and look

His first boat was a 57in with a 25cc homelite engine (basically what I am building)... his second one he is now building will be insane... 62in offshore Cat with a huskvarna 49cc engine!

    Big boys and their toys!
