    Computer Guru's- need help a.s.a.p.

well I am having problems with AIM Bot that I was using and the only way I can fix it is by doing this:

    1) You may be behind a firewall. If so, make sure your firewall has given access to the Java Plugin program.

How do I fix the firewall and give access to my Java Plugin program?

Basically what you need to do is port forwarding. Read the FAQ and manual that comes with your firewall.

most home firewalls use Nat... Network address table............

so when someone scans an IP range they get the firewall info instead of your computer info...

We won't be able to help without knowing what firewall you have.......

you could bypass the firewall, get the java plugin, then reconnect to the internet via the firewall...

    might work....

if your hooked up through a home router it has a built in firewall
when you setup it up, use the docs for the bot program and find out what ports it uses
then simply unblock these ports and your good to go
this is how network admins block kazaa from school campus networks

if its a software firewall you installed on your computer, you can most likely do the same thing just mess around with the program until you figure it out
